  1. I think the Twins bullpen is weak, not up to the task of winning anything significant. Really poor job this winter of strengthening an obvious hole.
  2. This bullpen isn't championship quality. Gave up a tie game twice this game. Now directly responsible for all 3 losses. How does Rogers throw that 0-2 pitch?
  3. 84 Fleer update Kirby Puckett, which is his actual rookie card. I tried, at one time, to collect every single Puckett card. I believe I was successful, but it's hard to know. Cereal card boxes, marbles with Puckett's picture imbedded...there were SO many, and there would always seem to be another weird one I'd stumble on after much research. I have well over 200 different Puckett "cards." Anywho...Puckett 84 Fleer update. I have one in near mint condition. I also have, I believe, every 61 Topps Twins card.
  4. Really nice to see Polanco hit the ball hard into a gap twice today, even if one got caught. 1st half 2019 Jorge would be pretty huge for the offense.
  5. Was nice to see Polanco hit a couple balls hard to the gap, even if one got caught. He's pretty important to this lineup. We need something closer to 1st half 2019 Jorge.
  6. Well, it may be stupid. Or it may not. I suspect there are differences of opinion. But the post I responded to said the rule was the reason the Twins lost. Hard to support that claim, IMO.
  7. It's my understanding the Twins also start the 10th with a runner on second.
  8. A couple thoughts: Why do you let Rooker hit in an RBI spot, then sub in Buxton for him in the same inning? If Buxton's going in, why not PH him? I don't understand how Polanco doesn't score from second on Cruz's ground single to right. Really poor decision from Diaz. Nothing has changed my opinion this bullpen isn't equipped to win anything meaningful.
  9. Yeah, it's simply not fair that they get to start the inning with a runner on 2nd, and we don't.
  10. Dunno about that. The calf bone is connected to the... hamstring bone.
  11. I knew we should have been searching in Column B.
  12. Astudillo's career BA is .294. Career OBP .319. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/a/astudwi01.shtml
  13. I fear the bullpen is woefully weak compared to other AL contenders. Not enough power. Hoping for too many reclamation projects.
  14. First, my worry starts much higher than the 8th spot in the pen. Second, one injury and number 8 is now number 7, etc etc. And third, every reliever will pitch meaningful innings over the course of the season. It's the nature of MLB. You can't plan on only using the top half of your pen when games are close. Doesn't work out that way. I have serious concern about this bullpen being good enough to win the ALC, much less the WS.
  15. Who sits so Arraez can be the everyday leadoff hitter? Polanco? Donaldson? Kirilloff?
  16. I think what Johnson meant was the ABILITY to throw strikes, when wanted, with pitches other than FBs. Command. Drop the slider in for a strike, then just off the low outside corner. On command.
  17. They might cobble together a decent rotation if Maeda and Berrios are really good. But the pen looks really weak to me. Potentially devastating.
  18. Colome? I guess I was hoping for something from column B.
  19. "Tom Kelly criticizes Todd Walker's Christmas lights" is your best line to date, Stu. And that's a very high bar to leap. Very high indeed.
