    I waa hoping for an actual managerial change. This seems like only a name change. Hope I'm wrong and he learned some things in his first opportunity. His previous teams were as bad at playing the game as Rocco's Twins.

    One of the failures of his previous tenure was poor fundamentals and a seeming lack of any interest in improving them. Similar to Rocco. Maybe he's changed priorities.

    ? Pretty sure those were career splits for Rooker and Wallner, and meant to show Rooker doesnt have a major platoon weakness, while Wallner has struggled against LH pitching. Also...LH pitching amounts to roughly 28% of all MLB innings pitched, not 15%.

    For me, it was watching Gagne play defense, game after game, month after month, season after season. Very, very good, and very, very dependable. Ground balls to SS were outs.

    Do you think Clemens and Diaz are worth the same in trade value? Or maybe BBTV is not reality? I also doubt Boston considers Casas a "throw in."

    Gagne. Easily. In addition to the points made by others above, he somehow managed to show up to play every day.

    Looks like the Giants are hiring Tennessee Vols head coach Tony Vitello. Interesting choice. I particularly like this recent quote from him: "I think everyone is suffering the consequences all the way up to the big leagues where guys are super skilled, but there’s less development, less coaching, less accountability and therefore less understanding of how to actually play the game to win. And it starts all the way, trickle-down effect.” Couldn't agree more. Playing the game of baseball needs to become an important point of emphasis again. We'll see how it goes.

    Wallner isn't getting released, nor should he. But he certainly should be someone the FO is willing to trade in the right deal. Wallner was awful this year. We need to stop pretending that an OPS driven solely by SLG is a good measure of offensive value. The man drove in 18 runners the entire 2025 sesson. He has 3 Sac Flies in his career. He has little defensive value. He turns 28 this winter. And he absolutely was part of the problem with the 2025 offense. Not the biggest problem. He certainly might be better in the future, he was in part time roles in 2023 and 2024. But let's not pretend he was any kind of asset in 2025.

    I strongly doubt LSU offered him 5x the money. In fact, I doubt he got a raise. from what I've read. But its speculation in any case. Neither his Twins salary nor LSU salary were ever confirmed, AFAIN, but AI tells me he got $380k for his one year, plus a vehicle allowance. I doubt the Twins were paying him $75k. What I DO know is it's a pretty classless move to quit mid-season. I'd want no part of him. As for job availability, the CWS had just ended so the college sesson was over, and there's no reason he couldn't have waited to accept that job after the Twins season ended. He also only stayed at LSU for one season before taking the head coaching job at Georgia.

    Torii Hunter is my second favorite Twins player ever. But I don't think that qualifies him to manage.

    Canterino hasn't thrown a pitch in a game since 2022. 85 IP total in his minor league career. Surgery again in 2025. Zero chance. Even IF miracles coalesce and he somehow manages to defy all odds and throw a pitch from a mound in 2026, He'd be nowhere near ready to pitch in the show.

    Hey, you are entitled to your opinion that depending on Desclafani to solidify the rotation of a supposed contender was a good gamble. To each his own. You 'n Falvey can take that to the grave. Find me one single solitary person associated with the Seattle Mariners-owner, front office, field staff, player, reporter, or fan) who wouldn't do that trade again without a moment's hesitation. Just one. Idiotic trade by Falvey.

    Took the words right out of my...thumbs. Exactly the type of guy they should be looking at. I hope he gets an interview. And any further interviews go to similar types with experience and a seeming familiarity with and appreciation for instruction and the game of baseball.
