  1. If I'm reading correctly, some flexibility and Nolasco is gone. OK then... The deal is also "cash-neutral". No win there. I liked Alex Meyer. But it just wasn't happening here. Best wishes. 5 things to know about Hector Santiago from the Strib: http://www.startribune.com/five-things-to-know-about-new-twins-pitcher-hector-santiago/388871861/ Nice work, Antony.
  2. Agree! To get 2 high ranking prospects like Light [ for a soft-tossing lefty ] and Adalberto Mejia [ for a utility player ] is a win.
  3. Oh man, don't get me started on Baseball Cards..... My brother's and I had a really nice collection. Everybody contributed. On his way off to college, our oldest brother scooped up the collection and ran off with them. A couple decades later, we were helping him and his family move to a new house. On the BASEMENT FLOOR was the box with the cards. With water stains on the side.....
  4. I don't believe "not playing shortstop" was about Polanco's arm. I think it was about his footwork. I also think I've seen a REALLY small sample size of Polanco at SS. Escobar is healthy again and playing well, + hitting. One thing of note on Escobar: on the day of the Nunez trade, Escobar was playing 3rd.
  5. Kinzler and Abad have pitched well for the Twins, improving their value. They've also provided time for RP prospects to get more time developing. From what I'm hearing here, time to move some of them up. Like catcher, RP's will be a valuable commodity during this trade season. What will we get for either? Lower level MiLBer or 2 with some potential. Overall, still a plus for the Twins.
  6. I think people are overlooking the fact that we're not in "normal" trade season here. This is "bulking up for post season run" season. More than one team is looking at Santana. (Texas, Toronto and Cleveland?) There will be competition for Santana. Milk it for all you can get!
  7. From this mornings Strib: Duffey to bullpen. Where, it didn't say
  8. Duffey has changed his arm angle on everything he's throwing. Allen and other coaches have tried to fix that. Don't know why Duffey changed his arm slot. But I remember Twins had him working on something in Spring Training. Seemed to mess him up, more than anything.
  9. Bunt wasn't a bad option. I just don't remember Buxton successfully executing one.
  10. Odd list. At least 2 of those teams have big bucks to spend. Not Twins.....
  11. Have none of these guys heard of a 'sweep tag'?
  12. Yeah, but still better that a town call Colonoscopy
  13. That's why I was thinking pinch runner....
  14. Nice rip, Grossman. One more thing: PINCH RUNNER !!!!!
