  1. And that's why you put up with Bux hitting around the Mendoza Line -- because he can save you 2 runs by tracking down that ball in the gap.
  2. They have our bullpen scouted real well.
  3. Looking for food and instead gets... http://cdn1.thecomeback.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/dumpsterfire.png This team with the bases loaded most times, I swear...
  4. When the director cut to Buxton 3/4 of the way to 3rd base, he looked to me like he wasn't going to stop. He was just gonna say 'f it, let's see if they can put two good throws together' and then we cut back to Jones's throw and...it's going to 2nd base??? Easy score now!! Despite his horrid at-bat with the bases loaded in the 4th, his bat is coming around. There seems to be a few people who want to slam on him for what he's been doing at the plate but Bux's speed has been what keeps everyone encouraged that the bat will come around. That speed provides outstanding outfield defense and as we saw in this clip, he can be a real danger on the basepaths.
  5. Comebacks like this do nothing but breed confidence in the entire roster....something a young group like this one really needs after getting their ears kicked in repeatedly last season. After a one-year hiatus, it's nice to be at the All-Star Break and still have meaningful baseball to watch.
  6. And that Buxton speed just stole another run (plus the Orioles crappy defense). But by all means, let's send him off to Rochester.
  7. No, but Florida sure feels like it during the summertime. Though, not as bad as say, Phoenix or Las Vegas.
  8. New weather forecast for tomorrow -- blowing snow and a high of 30....IN JULY!! Belisle escaped too?
  9. Just put my house on the market... @oldgoat_MN
  10. It's gonna be 40 and sleeting tomorrow here....Pressly got out of that inning unscathed??
  11. Annnnnnnnnnd we're all tied up!! As I said in a thread in last nite's game story -- when the wheels start wobbling on the Orioles wagon, it turns into a full junkyard.
  12. I like Jorge getting another look after a pretty decent first outing. Now isn't the time yet to be auditioning guys that we HOPE can compete at this level. Jorge showed he could in his first go-around. Turley was a disaster from the start and we let him hang around for a couple more bad starts. As for the game last nite, the Twins show that when the bats are on, they just crush it. And when the Orioles get a little loose, the wheels just come off. Good holds by Kintzler and Rogers. Still covering my eyes when Duffey comes into the game.
  13. Kintzler is only an All-Star if you own stock in antacids and drywall companies.
  14. 3 hits for Buxton....off to Rochester he goes!!
  15. Ummmmm, Taylor? I think those previous 2 pitches that Albert fouled off should have told you that he was zeroed in one whatever you were throwing. One outside the zone may not have been the worst thing in the world. #bullpenissues
  16. So let's leave Rogers in for the 8th and see how he starts out. No sense in going to someone else just for the sake of starting a new inning.
  17. I've been hard on Gibson throughout this season but I give him a lot of credit for getting out of the jams in the innings that he gave up runs. Now let's hope the bullpen can keep it together.
  18. BIG BUX, BIG BUX, NO WHAMMIES!!! (2 for 2 since I defended him...#vindicated)
  19. What were we saying about Gibson?? It's getting a bit late for him.
  20. That's been a thing throughout the majors this holiday weekend. Players that like to wear the high socks will have the stripes on one leg and the blue field with stars on the other. Frankly, I'll be glad when today is over and everyone can go back to wearing the normal uniforms and colors. These holiday getups have jumped the shark in my mind.
  21. As long as he continues to provide that defense. He already stole one hit in the gap on the leadoff batter of this game. The ball he ran down in the RF gap last night was one no one else is getting to. They can keep working with him to help him at the plate. And you might be able to hide his bad bat.
  22. I'll tolerate the rough batting average if he keeps providing the outfield defense that he has so far this year.
