    Wow, they're letting the summer interns run the graphics at FS North today. Duffey is looking awfully different than usual.

    Got off the golf course just in time before the skies opened and ready to settle in for some putrid afternoon baseball. But I look at the lineup and I ask this question -- did Molitor put all the names in a hat and just have a random draft as to who bats where? It's not like there's a bunch of rookies in the lineup that you're trying to find a spot...these are all players who have been on the roster all year. You should have a decent idea where people should go and if not, how about starting to build toward something? This lineup card looks like the work of a lost manager. (call me after the game when the Twins put up 12 runs)

    You're exactly right. They ran the white flag up the pole when there's still a fighting chance at the WC. But we're the minority that wants to try to win now when everyone else wants to say they can't win this year but maybe they will next year or in 19. All of these so-called prospects that we picked up might as well be college kids since we won't see them until 2020. A lot of good that does us now.

    Given that a bunch of Twins went to play Pebble Beach before going to Oakland, you'd think they were ready to get the 9-irons out to hit these low pitches instead of taking them.

    No Bremer on this broadcast? How will I know to get excited about a routine fly to left?

    Petco is a pretty fun ballpark. Inside, it feels like an open-air mall when you're walking along the concourse. Since they always have great weather, it's easier to be open like that. There's a 'beach' behind the RF fence where the falls are cushioned by those chasing BP home runs. Sight lines are pretty good too, though, my seat in the first row of the upper deck gave me acrophobic anxiety so it took away a little from my enjoyment of the game I went to there. Outside, the park is located in the perfect spot downtown -- close to all the bars.

    MLB Network just cited the Washington Post report as well. Hopefully it's not for a couple of busted bats and an empty jar of pine tar.

    First off, that Fox Box is not the be all, end all. I don't know why broadcasters feel it is and keep knocking us over the head with it. All we look for is consistency. Cuzzi has been in the same spot on that outside edge the entire game. Hitters might get fooled by it the first time but they're major league hitters, they can adjust. The inside pitch he called on Mauer before he struck out shouldn't have been missed, though. That's the easiest one to call based on positioning. But that's all beside the point. Stop blaming the umpire when you should be up there protecting with 2 strikes!

    Y'all can complain about Cuzzi all you want but he's been consistent on that edge of the plate the entire game. Why the Twins keep standing up there and looking at it, especially this late in the proceedings, is beyond me.
