  1. Says a lot for Michigan tourism that there's a 'Visit Central Florida' banner on the backstop.
  2. Can you put that in English for those of us who pretty much ignore all of these new-age stat stuff?
  3. Ding ding ding...the calendar sets up perfectly for Santana to pitch the WC game on that Tuesday. Given Molitor's flaws of managing a bullpen, hopefully he or Neil Allen have done the proper calendar maneuvering to make sure Santana is in that spot.
  4. Makes you wonder how quickly after the final out they deep-six Ausmus.
  5. With the Twins reaching double digits tonite, I'll be scrambling for the 'under' bet in tomorrow's game.
  6. 1st base umpire must have found a hot date on Tinder and is running close to the time to meet her because there's no way that was a swing. Oh, and that's the clown that will be behind the plate tomorrow nite.
  7. *hides eyes* Welp, here comes Pressly.
  8. Show of hands.... How many of y'all back in June had Mauer at .310 or higher by this point of the season?
  9. Awwwwww...you're gonna pull Mejia NOW?
  10. Got some meds to deal with the shakes in these situations. Hopefully the bats can come through.
  11. If the pitcher is going to continue to throw first-pitch strikes, you might as well take an aggressive approach.
  12. I don't. I did a Google search the first time and I clicked on the WSJ link and that came up with the subscription firewall. I re-did the search and clicked on the WSJ Facebook page link that came up and then clicked the link to the story off their FB page and that had no subscription firewall.
  13. Link to the Wall Street Journal feature on Buxton that the FS1 announcers mentioned last inning: https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-tracking-technology-helped-baseballs-best-fielding-outfielder-1505923095?mod=e2fb
  14. Would we feel better about Slegers or Gee in this spot? I know I was a little surprised to see Mejia back in the rotation last week and wasn't feeling all that great about it before he had the poor outing.
  15. Angels lose 4-1. Big opportunity tonight.
  16. Are they? Right now, yes. Should they be? Probably not. There's been a lot of smoke and mirrors and patchwork done with the lineup and the pitching staff. Plus, with how young this team is, one might think that a series like this one would kill all their confidence and might cause them to go into a tailspin. *BUT* Should they play well enough over these last 10 games to get in, then they will have earned it and certainly deserved it. The maturation of these guys throughout the season has been great to see and whatever experience they can get down the stretch here and in whatever amount of postseason they get to play will be a great building block for 2018. I liken this, in a way, to another team that I root for in a different sport -- the 2007 Pittsburgh Penguins. That year, they made it to the playoffs as a very young team and got torched in the first round. But the experience of dealing with that and the front office learning what needed to be done to bolster what they had helped springboard their run to back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances. In the Twins case, this 'run' has hopefully given the front office a good look at what needs to be added (and it's a lot on the pitching side) in the offseason. And yeah, they looked overmatched (grossly at times) in this 3-game series against NYY. But I want one more shot at them with everything on the line. If that game went the right way, it would be as amazing as the two World Series wins. And if it went the wrong way, well, everyone would have expected it anyway. So there'd be nothing to lose and those fans who are afraid of even playing in that game (whether it's vs NYY or BOS) mystify me since this is why we're fans...living and dying with the team in the biggest games.
  17. Well, your posts do give off the air of being the smartest guy in the room so by all means, keep our collective IQ up in here.
  18. Bring 'em on. It only takes one shot. And if it does happen, here's a tip for ya -- don't come around these parts. Go pet a dog or something, just don't watch.
  19. Yep, this one is likely done here soon. I'll help Pressly move if that means he's not in a Twins uniform next season.
  20. Those last 2 ABs by Escobar and Rosario are what frustrates most about playing these MF'ers. If a Yankee hits the flare that Escobar hit, it drops in. If a Yankee hits the ball that Rosario hit, it's in the first row of the bleachers. It's like the old leprechauns at the Boston Garden...same mystique has been cast over the Twins when they play this piece-of-garbage franchise.
  21. Something about playing these frickin a**holes that always makes things go wrong.
  22. Hey ESPN broadcasters -- Sano not being in the lineup hasn't been what has hurting this team. It's the suspect pitching and the suspect usage of the bullpen.
  23. How did you embed the video like that in the text box? I couldn't figure it out this afternoon.
  24. What are you bellyaching about now? If you'd rather not watch in the postseason, then fold up the tents now and don't even watch the last 2 weeks.
