  1. Abreu seems like the perfect lottery ticket type they should be targeting for Abad.
  2. Astros are said to be looking for Catching + Left Handed relievers. Suzuki + Abad to Houston for Albert Abreu + Derek Fisher? I would do that in a heartbeat, would HOU?
  3. In one post you call Rosario just a toss in on any deal, and then in this post Puig isn't a fit because he won't have playing time with Rosario around. Make up your mind. I like that a last place club who has a Left Fielder with a .250 OBP doesn't fit your criteria for a team with a clear OF need
  4. Puig has a career OPS+ of 132, Francoeur never had a single season higher than 126 (only 70 game rookie year). Puig has a career OBP of .362, Francoeur had a single season career high of.338. Their numbers really aren't similar in the least.
  5. Seems like an odd comparison. They aren't comparing careers, they are comparing Puig in 2016 to Francoeur's career. I mean couldn't we find tons of players who have had a few month sample that might be similar to Francouer's career numbers?
  6. I never pretended it was about something else. The Yankees took a risk by buying extremely low on a top notch player, and it paid off extremely well.
  7. http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=jagiel001eri http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=davis-024wil "Outside the Box" Above are the 2 main prospects the Reds received for Chapman from the Yankees. The Yankees paid Chapman a few million, and flipped him for a top 20 prospect in all of baseball. The Twins were looking for bullpen help, they could've been in on this... but it would've been way outside the box considering how they operate. "But we've gotta save spots for Chargois and Burdi"
  8. I know people who frequent this site are Twins fans, so this may seem like a foreign concept. But you are allowed to think outside the box on occasion, take a risk... a team that is out of the race and unlikely to contend next year has nothing to lose, this is absolutely the type of move they should be looking into. No thanks on Puig because Grossman, Rosaio and Walker need spots? I mean give me a break. Enjoy the 90 loss seasons as they continue to pile up
  9. The Yankees had Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller. The Twins do not
  10. Suzuki, Abad, Kintzler. There is no reason any of these 3 should be on the roster by tonight. Unless someone gives you an offer you can't refuse, I'm totally fine with the new GM making the Santana and Dozier trades this offseason
  11. I have absolutely no idea what type of return the Dodgers could get for Puig, but if it is nothing major sign me up. Puig >>> Rosario. I would even throw Rosario in the deal if needed. His "improvement" since coming back includes 18 k's and 1 BB and a .386 babip
  12. How quickly you forget, just a few days ago Boshers was one of the final 5 great shining moments from Terry Ryan.
  13. Lavelle was on with Barriero this afternoon and said he expected a Kintzler and/or Abad trade as soon as tonight
  14. Your analysis is based on "All Star, Batting Avg., and RBI"? FYI, his OBP since June 1 is .295
  15. $20 says the 1st 20 times he pitches for the Twins we hear the same sentence repeated. "Mejia, originally signed by the Giants out of the Dominican in 2011, came to the Twins in a trade for Eduardo Nunez. Mejia throws a fastball, change, curve..."
  16. I found this humorous because in paragraph 1 you said Berrios isn't up because of his poor performance (4 starts) And then in the 2nd paragraph asked why Duffey doesn't get cut any slack. (ERA > 6 in 17 starts). More humor - I haven't seen Greg Maddux's name mentioned as a comp for Duffey as much in the past couple of months as I did in May
  17. Like 37-63 bad?
  18. Well if Greg Gagne says so! I'd say its more important to have very good pitcher(s). Which Santana is not
  19. I would love to hear an explanation from the FO/ Manager on why he was picked to be a starter and May was chosen to go to the bullpen. 2017: Berrios, May, Gibson, Santana (if he's still around) and Trade or FA signing. Should be plenty of openings in the bullpen for Duffey to get a shot there, perhaps as the long man who can make starts if needed.
  20. There may be 29 teams interested in "buying" in December, where there may only be 10 in July. Also, in regards to Santana specifically, 9 of those 10 teams who are "buying" might think they only need a pitcher for the stretch run, and aren't as interested in taking on a contract for the next 2 years. Those teams plans may change come December
  21. Maybe a tad bit overly dramatic. People have demonized Ryan, or they just didn't think he did a very good job? If he didn't want to be held responsible for what happened with the Twins, I'm guessing he wouldn't have taken the GM job. At the end of the day the person in charge is the one held accountable for results. Plenty of people had input in the Nolasco signing, as Jack admitted to. Terry Ryan is still the one who signs off on anything that happens
  22. Why would it surprise you that 100% of the blame for terrible results for the past 6 years is being placed on the person in charge of building the baseball team?
  23. Not every hire ever made in professional sports has worked out? I never would've guessed
  24. Rizzo Russell Arrieta Fowler Hendricks Montero Strop The Cubs sure have avoided shrewd trades
  25. No he couldn't, he has a no trade clause. Enough already
