  1. Has anyone looked at what MLB shortstops are hitting these days? Jose Iglesias has the highest OPS of any qualified AL shortshop and it's .768. Next closest is Bogaerts with .734. If Gordon can stick at shortstop, which I think he can, and post a .700-.750 OPS, which I think he can, he'll probably be one of the better shortstops in the AL.

  3. It will be nice to see Byron get a look at a below average lefty for once. If he looks lost at the plate tonight, I may start to lose hope (for this season, that is). Or, maybe Eduardo Escobar will start in center over him.
  4. I think Garver could be breaking out soon, if he's not already. I really like him as a catching prospect.
  5. Jacque hit 24+ homers four times. I'm not sure if I could see Rosario doing that. I do think Rosario is a better fielder though. Either way, if your #8 prospect turns into Jacque Jones you're probably in good shape.
  6. I'm not ready to give up on this kid being a big league contributor this season after 22 at bats.
  7. They started that this year, I got quite the chuckle out of it the first game I went to this year.
  8. He's been the second best 2B in the AL this year. He should be in, but i'm sure he won't be.
  9. How will everyone be celebrating National (yes, national) Byron Buxton Day? I personally just woke up and threw on my Chattanooga Lookouts Byron Buxton t shirt. For the rest of the day, anyone who chooses to converse with me will have to first listen to my Buxton excitement rant. Around 1:30 pm, I will probably start cracking the beers. During his first at bat, I'll pop a bottle of champagne and bust out the caviar. After his first hit, I will dump said champagne all over my head like below. So how will everyone else be celebrating?
  10. Good for Brandon Peterson, it's about time they moved him up.
  11. 1-3, 2B, BB, SB

  13. Why the hell is Oliveros starting again for Rochester today? The guy hadn't started a game at any level since 2006 and now he'll be starting his fourth game in a row. Call up a starter from Chattanooga (probably would be Berrios) or move Hamburger or Meyer back to the rotation. I have no idea what they're thinking here.
  14. I seem to remember Mientkiewicz saying ABW was his most improved player from last year. Not sure if he's said anything beyond that though.
  15. Speaking of Minier, I'm assuming he'll make the jump to Elizabethton this year? I haven't heard anything about him this season.
  16. He seems to have plenty of range and I'm not going to judge his hands after one game but the arm was a little worrisome.
  17. I paid pretty close attention to Polanco in the field at the game last night and even without the error, it was pretty clear that his defense is not major league ready. As advertised, he has the arm strength of a second baseman. I don't expect that to ever change but one thing he can improve is getting his feet set when he makes throws. I realize that's not always possible but there were multiple times when he had time to set his feet but threw off of one foot instead, resulting in a weak throw.
  18. I'll be there tonight, looking forward to seeing the kid play.
