  1. Gosh, that sounda fun! Except perhaps the dying part. Count me in! If i must die, i hope the bacteria is smarter than i...
  2. Yeah, i remember the Challenger about that time. The whole class was watching it. I haven't been on a space shuttle since. Although i would claim it is for other reasons than fear. As is my general avoidance of flying. I guess i'm not up to planning months in advance and otherwise am mildly set in my ways.
  3. I had fun actually parking at logan for a change 6 or 7 years back, going into the terminal with the roller coaster perpetual motion style ball sculpture. It had shrunk significantly since the last time i'd seen it when i was 11 or so.
  4. I didn't think chickens could taste...
  5. Sorry i am late. My turing machine stopped running. Glad we won in the meantime.
  6. So... it might still be pizza if you can eat it with chopsticks? Speaking as one who normally folds the slices to keep them from flopping, i do kinda appreciate the third dimension. So folding also helps them seem thicker. But meh. Food's food. Won't begrudge anyone their foibles.
  7. I am not worthy! I just thought we would be there forever if it were "Chicastop"
  8. Sorry for my general absence from this game thread... Busy weekend socializing and such. I did check the score in 8th inning and saw we were down by 1, and so naturally assumed we'd walk it off in the 9th... Apparently we found out why having a closer is good.
  9. Someone recommended a book to me this weekend... Ballparking it i think was the name... I should read it eventually.
  10. I guess the Red Sox don't take too kindly to being walked off?
  11. Sorry i didn't pull my weight in the game thread. I'll try to do better next time. Glad Mauer made it home... Where my thoughts are waiting. Or is that where the music's playing?
  12. Not catching up on thread yet. In well, like a social setting. Even in a restaurant with tvs and wont ask them to turn the game on...
  13. I miss the ol' Gibby... But yeah, i am not too concerned about the Twins as a whole.
  14. Dozier, you've turned off your batting computer...
  15. Hmmm... Hard question. I think i'd just be stoked i made it to the show.
  16. And thank y'all kindly for taking such great care of the thread! Am honored to be compared to a Vonnegut reference. I will try to live up(?) to it henceforth. Can confirm the Ashbury and Chief encounters. Chief's makes the better story, as i was in the midst of a perfectly sane and reasonable road trip just because string basses and airplane flights are difficult to combine. Had it not been for the lack of daylight savings time, i would have arrived after his bedtime.
  17. Evidently they are better at dreaming.
  18. The unwritten GametThread into. 0. If you weren't paging attention, i cleverly left the word rules out of the title so it would actually be unwritten. I actually thought that sufficient as the entire intro, but would have understood if Chief and ChiTown disagreed. 1. No one can be told about the GameThread. You have to choose. Take the blue pill to continue on down the rabbit hole (yes, the sign says Eat Me on it. Please don't be offended) or take the red pill to continue with your normal. Media coverage. What? they're both blue? That can mean only one thing... You are already in the GameThread... It isn't so bad once you get used to our... 2. Hospitality. Yes, despite appearences, i consider us considerate folk. I think we're pretty good at making people feel welcome. But i then notice last night the Twins were hosting this group of ball players from the bay area out west. And whatwe do? we just blasted homerun after homerun off them. Was that what good host would do? Run up 9 on them and only let them score once? But then i thought we want the best from them. It is only natural to set the example. These next couple of games will be all the better for it. Which seems like a 3 Conundrum. Which i like to pose. And why the concept of unwritten rules apeals to me. I still don't know why a Raven is like a Writing Desk, nor how a cook's brainpan is like an overwound clock. But that's one more thing that keeps me going. What conundrums do you like? Castro in the 6 hole? Opposing pitchers throwing inside fastballs to Dozier? Or not Walking Sano? Or Danny Santana? 4 um... Deadlines. I am running a wee bit late. So i am just going to post this and lead 4 to the reader. 5 will then be extra credit. Athletics Kendall Graveman (R ) 1. Rajai Davis (R ) CF 2. Trevor Plouffe ( R) 3B 3. Ryon Healy ( R) DH 4. 19. Egad, Ashbury! How'd he figure that out? Elemetary, my dear sampleSize. Speaking of which, Disney has been radioactive ever since the new Tron movie came out. (probably the last movies i saw at the Harvard Sq. Cinema, being that and the new True Grit. And a very Bridgtastic double feature it was)
