  1. What about gamenight? Seems like it might know better? Or is that no better?
  2. Wish i was clever enough to think of this... On dark night, a strike zone that knows how to keep its secrets...
  3. Thankye kindly. It was actually written by Sarah Bellum, i believe... I just um... i geuss i posted it. I also have the urge to add something like "and Ray Goulding reminding you to hang by your thumbs." but i know that isn't quite right. Folk are encouraged to add more PHC material if they care. Something 2 more hours until game time. A whole show would fit.
  4. It's been a quiet week at target field. Unlike the opening series against the Royals, Chicago and Cleveland have not exactly been walking everyone in. And if they aren't beating themselves, why should we rub it in that we're the better team? They might do that in big east coast cities, but i like to think we are more civilized. This portion of the game thread introduction has been brought to you by Ralph's pretty good groceries. If you can't find it at Ralph's you're probably better off without it. Many have noticed Rosario has been laying off some of those outside pitches he used to occasionally deposit in the stands, but more often than not. We can attribute this to the natural mellowing agents found in Ketchup. Now there is no need to pile it higher and deeper on Buxton and his batting woes. Suffice it to say following his next strike out, i would like to offer him a slice of Beebop-a-reebop rubarb pie. Phil Hughes is toeing the rubber today, and his last start he allowed 4 runs to Detroit, while still getting the all important W. That has not gone unnoticed down at Bertha's Kitty Boutique. And the final portion of the game thread intro is brought to you by Powdermilk Bisquets. Look for them in the nice blue uniforms that give shy players the strength to do what needs to be done. So that's the news from target field, where all leadoff-ers are strong, the pitches well framed, and all the prospects are above average. Target field Cleveland Indians: Pitcher. Josh Tomlin (R ) 1. 5. Sleep well, and dream of large comebacks!
  6. Pitching change... Hopefully we can make a corresponding hitting change.
  7. And i caught up on the game thread. Did the Twins catch up in the meantime?
  8. I thought Target field is outside...
  9. Haikus take new meaning When we cut and paste line ups. Not just us vs. them.
  10. Y'all take good care of the game. I will miss the forst hour or so, and may subsequently be slow to catch up, seeing how well that worked yesterday... And here's to hoping Chief gets his joke book back and we can return to defcon 5.
  11. That is a shame. Has he reported it?
  12. There exist social circles in which bat is an acronym. I know t stands for tuba. I am pretty sure b stands for big, as bats are usually 6/4 tubas. I am still not entirely sure what the a stands for. Anyway you can tell these kinds of bats by their phat sound in the low register. I must confess i appreciate all three bats myself. Even if i am too lazy to haiku it.

  14. Who knows who bats where Haikus do not inform me Line ups please thank you
  15. Is this the first time we are being reminded to discuss the game in a gamethread!? Now i've seen everything! Glunn, this is one impressive soul searching intro. I hope we win, and if it is only the game, that's fine with me.
  16. And we could still go 157-5. Don't sell us short.
  17. Hey i caught up. Unfortunately so did the white sox... Perhaps i should have remained standing. I'll get back to it.
  18. Right now i think i'll sit. And catch up fhe game thread. Been standing most of the afternoon.
  19. If so, how come everyone is firing up grills? I have it on good authority revenge is a dish best served cold. Grills are hot.
  20. Is there anything wrong with Chief responding "yes"?
