  1. 88-74, second wild-card, wild October which results in sending the Yankees home. If not, I become the Lewis Black play-off fan and spend October cheering for New York Demise.
  2. I'm just going to enjoy The Experience as long as it lasts. I don't expect Molitor or Falvine to force the issue. It's only a one year deal. If this is the year that true, marked decline sets in, the Twins seem to have an arsenal of >Boshers/Graham/Thompson-esque relief options ready to get some chances. If not, the Twins will have a solid closer, despite his typical winding course. As bad as his season numbers were, I had some of my best times of the 2017 season watching Bartolo Colon games. I'm hoping Rodney can deliver some moments like that as well. I can't wait for tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
  3. Great point, Thrylos. Vlad the Impaler made a HOF career on doing it
  4. There is no reason to burn an option and 40-man turn on Lamonte Wade. He has value down the line. This is where a player like Lamarr adds perfect value. I'm not expecting the unearthing of an all-star, but the timing of his hot streak does add current value. If anything, it pushes Grossman. The Vargas situation is an isolated, head-scratching situation otherwise.
  5. I'm just celebrating the fact that he will be in the lineup ... Way to try to put the worst possible spin on something But since I'm now demonized and could care less, I'll take it a step further and add that I'm celebrating the fact that our society has yet to fully hand Twitter a gavel.
  6. Not much difference between celebrating the fact that the Twins will have Sano and looking forward to the Twins having Sano.
  7. It seems like every other time I refresh MLBTR, someone is releasing an infielder. Most have very little intrigue, although Ryan Flaherty at least made me dig into his numbers. I expect this to keep happening over the next few days, so I would guess the Twins will still keep their eyes open for a fit. As much as I like Granite, I think he still has to be in pencil until all the teams are cut down.
  8. Romero can get called up directly from AA. I still think Arteaga's presence in Chattanooga has more to do with Romero being there than him being "behind" all the starters at Rochester.
  9. Manfred is probably mostly worried about his own appearance ... Between Chief Wahoo and Twittergate, he might make his way to the stage at the next DNC.
  10. Not going to jump to any conclusions on this just yet ... Too many unknowns 1) Phil Hughes - Falvine didn't sign or extend him. Is ownership completely hands-off on this situation? Are Falvine under any direction to get every ounce of value possible out of that deal? 2) Kinley - Are they buying time to work a trade that keeps him in the system but not on the 25-man? Polanco's spot on the 40 is still open (AFAIK at this moment) ... Maybe they make a trade for Kinley and assign him to AAA or AA, then turn around and sign a cast-off to address the bottom of the bullpen or middle-infield situations ... Also Kinley was pitching pretty well, and then they tried to get a 3rd consecutive inning out of him ... Does he get any leeway for failing on that first attempt? 3) Duffey - Hasn't exactly been a rock in the pen or as a starter since his debut season ... Does he really deserve anything? 4) Busenitz - Live, high velo arm, but his performance was a bit smoke and mirrors ... ERA well below FIP ... Unsustainable strand rate ... The options are there to be used. Not the end of the world being a phone call away in Rochester 5) Wild Cards - Moya, Jake Reed, Nick Anderson - They've had good springs. Again there is an open 40 spot. I think everything will make a lot more sense in a week.
  11. I'm going when they play the Tigers and Indians affiliates. That way I can see what the competition is going to look like down the road. Tigers/Whitecaps are May 4-6. Indians/Captains are July 14-16.
  12. The Twins don't need quick risers in the OF right now. They especially don't need LH ones. The only OF prospect that needs to be added to the 40 at the end of the season is Wade. Youth is already being served in the form of Buxton, Rosario and Kepler, so these players like Baddoo, Kirilloff and Rooker need to get fully developed both with the bat and the glove before they even get a chance to displace anyone. None of those three even need to be added to the 40 until the end of 2020 season, so there is no reason to rush or fast track them, unless they go all Trout or Bryant on the higher levels of MiLB. Even then, it's smart for the small/mid-market Twins to play the control clock game. It sounds like Kirilloff's defensive game leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully, 2018 in CR, 2019 in Fort Myers and 2020 in Chattanooga followed by a spot on the 40-man can give him an opportunity to hone those skills. Then we'll have a new CBA before or after a strike and he'll still have zero service time going into whatever the new control rules happen to be.
  13. ... and you can see all the April games for just $49, if you don't mind standing
  14. RH OF for sure. They've got LH OF all over the system and will soon have no place to put them all.
  15. Byron Buxton got his caught stealing out of the way in ST. He'll break Vince Coleman's consecutive stolen base record. Byron Buxton will win his second consecutive Platinum Glove. Brian Dozier will extend his all-time Twins consecutive 100 run seasons to 5. Brian Dozier's 1000th hit will be a lead-off home run off Sean Manaea on September 23rd.
  16. I was only able to add 12 pounds, but wine as an aperitif is sort of juice.
  17. Don't want to get off track here, but .... That's why Adrianza, IMO. Plenty of bats to protect him. He'll have Dozier hitting behind him. Sorry, back to CF discussion.
  18. IMO, you don't. You tell him to practice falling and practice movements against the wall that will help him protect his body. Also, line the Target Field walls with LUX-HQ foam and turn those walls into something more resembling high-ball bouldering crash pads.
  19. Lock him up long term ... Every fly to the gaps is pure entertainment!!
