    I'm a Hawkeye. Every year on the day after Thanksgiving, I turn on the TV and just know that Nebraska is going to find a way to lose. Same thing when watching the White Sox. And it's a good start to Hosiery Week.

    Steve Stone after Berroa hits Castro: "This will keep your walk total down." That pretty much sums up the season so far for Stoney and the Sox. EDIT to add: And now they've moved on to showing Brewers-Rays boxing highlights.

    I don't have TV access, so this is one of the first games I've been able to see. Night and day seeing him leg that to second compared to last year. EDIT to add: And score from second.

    I think he's improved from last year. Last year it felt like he thought he needed to use every item in the press notes by the third inning. But yeah, lots of repeating things, along with naming every jersey in the crowd. He's just a month into the full-time gig, so hopefully he keeps heading in the right direction.

    Sox announcers talking about how much stronger the AL Central is this year because the Sox are only 2-16 against the division. The Central may be stronger, but I'm not sure that's the data point that proves it.

    I think Kepler could have turned and ran into the shortstop while the catcher was holding the ball and gotten the call.

    I've had a few times when I was thinking of something I wasn't capable of. I remember a time in a Vintage Base Ball game where I doubled into the gap and nearly got thrown out trying to stretch it into a single.

    Is "summer sausage" a regional thing? It makes for great discussion, but it's actually not THAT unhealthy to be handled in the way the team is doing it. As such, I prefer it with cheese and crackers, such as on a charcuterie board. "Charcuterie," by the way, is a French word meaning, "Didn't have enough bread for sandwiches."

    Randy Johnson was a Twin? That’s even worse than letting Big Papi go! Oh, wait… We’re hitting the years when I didn’t collect, but overall, this is a good design. I’m with @Road trip on the Rivera/Powell/Norwood trifecta. And yes to the Wynegar pose, but was that picture from his 9th grade media guide?

    In the seventh, the right-handed Stewart got 6-7-8, R-L-R. The fourth batter would have been another righty. In the eighth, the right-handed Jax started with 9-1-2, R-L-R. When two guys got on, he also got the Nos. 3 and 4. That was L-R, but using Jax in the eighth was setting him up to be the guy facing the meat of the order if guys get on base. And in the ninth, as it played out, Thielbar was scheduled to get 5-6-7, L-R-L, except that Chicago used a pinch hitter for No. 7 and No. 8. What would have been your proposed order? In your thinking, consider that Sands had thrown 35 pitches on Sunday, Okert threw 29 on Sunday and Funderburk threw 38 on Saturday. That leaves Jackson (4.52 FIP) and Bowman (5.64 FIP and now DFAed) as the other fully-rested options. Also keep in mind that Jax threw 6 pitches on Sunday, so they were very unlikely to use him for more than inning, particularly after he threw 22 pitches in the eighth. Finally, consider Stewart has only thrown more than an inning once, and needed 15 pitches to get through the seventh.

    I'll repeat a lot of what's been said above... I'll keep coming here. It's the best source for information about my favorite team. And since becoming a Caretaker (hint, hint, people), no ads! I'm so grateful for the moderators. You folks do a wonderful job. Like Linus, I've felt that a fair number of front page stories recently have felt forced, at times bordering on clickbait. I don't pay much attention to the minors forums, because that’s not my thing, but I do check the results from time to time and follow the rankings enough to have a sense of what's there. They are well done. By far the biggest frustration I've had with TD over the last couple years has been with the tone, over-reactions and general negativity that feels like has become far more prominent. Like others, I've spent less and less time on the Game Threads, which for me has been the biggest highlight of the site in the past. I follow baseball in general, the Twins in particular and TD specifically because I'm looking to have fun. Each additional time I hear that Rocco is stupid or that the owners are penny-pinchers, etc., takes more of the joy out of it for me. Not everyone has to be a Rocco fan, but there's a big difference between "I didn't like that move Rocco made, and I wish he'd done this instead" and "Rocco is such an idiot." A few weeks ago, it was a breath of fresh air when someone posted a "This is a positivity thread" post. I've thought of doing the same on several occasions. Thanks for asking, and for always striving for improvement on the site. EDIT to add: 6. Technology has worked for me, and I’m a Luddite.
