  1. I love guys who can bunt well and get base hits. Guys like Buxton, or in the past Cares and Butler. It can be a useful weapon and keep defenses and pitchers off balance. And the Twins have some guys with good wheels to do so. And I can still scenarios where bunting someone over to scoring position...and also avoid double play possibilities...can be useful. But I do agree Molitor has used it far too much.
  2. I have doubts he would achieve those HR totals over a full season, but it's possible. In their place, however, would be a surge in doubles. Regardless, I am not dumping in him, his numbers, his turnaround or potential. He is an amazing young talent who is just now coming in to his own.
  3. I didn't get to see or listen to the game, just monitor the game log and box. But hats off to Gibson for overcoming such a rough start and manning up for the next 6 innings. That was HUGE!
  4. Correct me if I'm misremembering after all these years, but didn't Redfern's career end to a fall or diving accident when he broke his neck?
  5. To be clear, I understand and appreciate the opinions of starting someone else for the 7th. I can't say I disagree. But I still don't find fault with sending Colon to start the 7th considering a few of the relievers were not available. My problem is he should been pulled after the walk. That was the signal to make a move.
  6. If you want to play the Kharma card, shouldn't Kepler hit a walk off homer tonight?
  7. I usually pick up various Oktoberfests this time of year, but its just so "summery" right now I haven't been in the mood yet.
  8. So we get Good Pressly AND good Duffey tonight! Come on guys...RALLY TIME!
  9. Agreed. Too much athleticism, great stroke and quick hands. I think he'll get there.
  10. Or put another way...want the girls to want to look at my figure. Lol
  11. Coors Light here...but your Oktoberfest looks and sounds better. Have to watch my girlish figure. Lol
  12. The one weird play, but Pressly did a pretty good job there. Too many pitches though. Call it a night.
  13. Why is it so hard to find good, consistent, quality umps? I'd really like to know. Tough job, but, is it really that hard to just call a zone consistently? I don't think there is enough accountability for these guys.
  14. I absolutely get the frustration with him. He's just not consistent enough. And maybe if he DOES start the inning things are different. But with his arm, and some good stretches, I'm just not sure I give up on this guy just yet.
  15. And I think you have a valid point. Close game, sure. But Colon was solid overall. And if you don't send him out and the pen implodes, you question why Colon wasn't sent out again. Personally, I think Molitor has been much better the second half of the season in regard to pulling pitchers on time and has used his pen better. Perfect? Nope. But I think he's had a better overall feel.
  16. Here's hoping we get Good Pressly tonight.
  17. As I said in another thread, only thing that stinks about the past 2 UNBELIEVABLE wins is the starters really "deserved" to have the wins.
  18. How do we feel about Pressly warming up?
