  1. Well, can we agree that whomever said "I know he has 2 years left on his deal, and I know he's never actually been good before this year, and I know he tinkers with his stuff all the time.....but we should extend Hughes".....that guy should not be in the FO anymore?
  2. St. Peter also told us to shut the heck up about the 25th man on the roster, it didn't matter...... Really, I find most of the Twins leadership to be condescending. I can't even listen to Ryan on the radio.
  3. Why is McPhail leaving Philly, right before they turn it all around and he looks like a genius?
  4. Some of us thought the best pitcher in Rochester, and maybe in that AAA league, should be up in 2014, instead of the guys they ran out there. That's the misuse in 2014. Last year? I don't know, but from the numbers, it looked like he had some very bad luck as a starter, but last year was so messed up I don't blame the FO/field staff.
  5. Given their insistence on hiring a manager with NO experience.....ya, I don't trust the owners either.
  6. This. Antony has no business being a GM. How anyone can look at what he did and think so, makes me speechless.
  7. history is changing, and the game is getting younger. That's been a several year trend, and isn't just about last year's historic class.......
  8. I agree, it is case by case.......and I don't have the knowledge these guys do.......but as you know, I'm not in love with their process.
  9. This article on Fangraphs is why I want guys up earlier than they are needed, during a rebuild. Guys need, as Seth pointed out, to get this out of the way: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/jb-wendelken-on-his-inauspicious-as-debut/
  10. I didn't write this, but I agree with all of this. As usual, Seth and I are on the same page!
  11. Which is why, imo, they should come up sooner rather than later, but we largely agree on this.
  12. As one of the owners of the site pointed out, the history of tall pitchers is really bad. The Twins traded a legit starting CF for him, so it was on them to: 1. Understand the risk 2. Believe they could fix his issues
  13. I just wish they had moved Mauer out from behind the plate a year earlier, as many here and elsewhere suggested. His career, imo, would look totally different. Of course, Mauer and Morneau are even earlier in history than Plouffe and Dozier.....
  14. Sano was an international signing. I am taktalking about the US scouting and development. But sure, 1 hitter in how many years?
  15. Really? The rare team? I don't think that's quite right, frankly. Name the last hitter this team drafted and developed, and how long ago it was.......I would go with Dozier or Plouffe. that's an awful long drought of drafted players that are legit MLB players, isn't it? It's not about the time (only), but the frequency......and the continual pipeline. On the pitching side, they started the year with 4 FAs/traded for guys in the starting rotation....... For me, it seems reasonable to question their drafting and their development, given the results. YMMV, of course.
  16. I thought he was considered very good defensively? I'm impressed by the speed of his adjustment to the game over here. OTOH, baseball is baseball to some extent.
  17. I guess it depends on the meaning of the word.........he sure doesn't look all that good compared to the other top 10 players on the boards the last couple years. So, if you are talking relative value, maybe he is. If you are talking absolute value, well, he'll play in the majors for a long time......
  18. Except almost every reply in those threads is how he might not be the superstar we thought, not that he's done for sure. almost every reply, not every reply........ I fail to see how having doubts about him being elite = saying his career is over. the strawmen are tiring.
  19. How will they know if they don't try? He's probably not a MLB starter, is he?
  20. I think it's fair, but it is hard to know what the plan is right now, and you would, I hope, admit it is hard to give them the benefit of the doubt on having a plan right now.
  21. Still waiting for someone to be promoted in this system..... I don't know, I don't care if Rochester needs SP, Rogers is a MLB LOOGY, and he should be up here doing that job. Can someone explain why he's starting, and not in the bullpen?
  22. Here is a list of people saying his career is over
  23. Can't tell if serious. Park is 29..... He is ready. So is Sano.
