  1. Do we think private equity (or whomever gave them this money) cares about winning? They care about money. It's a business. I don't think competitive matters to them at all (or any owner, other than a few).
  2. Sure, we can ignore defense, power, base running.....he's not good anymore. He just isn't. As to the OP, why would they spend money to lose 85 games instead of 90? It really makes not short or long term sense. They aren't competing next year. The most likely place any money is spent is the owner's pocketbooks, because they aren't quite rich enough yet.
  3. All that said, I have no idea if McCarthy is good or not. I am in the slight doubter camp, but he has the arm. And appears to have the confidence. He's not Ponder or TJack.....but he's a rookie who we should expect to struggle this year.
  4. All this. And, no, they did not set up McCarthy to fail. If anything,. they went all in too much (on D anyway). They rebuilt the whole OLINE, they traded for Thielen and Mason. They drafted a WR in round three, and have two highly paid TEs. It is the injury last year (and losing all that practice), not playing in the preseason, and the playcalling. I'm a KOC believer (still not sold on the GM), but he needs to adjust to the QB he has, and that's a rookie that literally didn't play last year at all.
  5. Ya, the drafts continue to be questionable, at best.
  6. So you'd rather the owners get all the money? Not the players?
  7. Apparently Jones is on IR (IL?) whatever it is called.....so I get it. He knows the O
  8. Cam Akers back? Really?
  9. Lack of ability to develop them doesn't show lack of priority. That's a different problem, that we agree on.
  10. Clemens is how old? Just say no . Move Wallner to first or DH. Promote one of the AAA outfielders, or two. Trade Larnach for anything. Lee at short. Martin in left.
  11. Martin going back to what made him a great prospect seems to be working. Too bad they played him at short, and changed his swing. Hopefully they let him be and stick him in left until the yute are ready.
  12. He's drafted several, and just traded for two. He signed Vazquez to a big deal. That sounds like a priority to me.
  13. Rodgers. You said sign Rodgers.
  14. I'd never root for them again if they brought in that Vax denier and generally evil person. Ever. Looks like Cincy is also bidding on Winston
  15. To what end? I mean, yes, Wentz is not good....truly....but why do we care if we aren't winning it all with McCarty either?
  16. Winston is awful. Interception city. Not a fan. They aren't winning it all with Winston. Don't give up the future for this QB. (even a 6th).
  17. I was expecting good and bad this year from JJ.....but that was worse than I expected. Sigh. Also, hurt again.....not a good sign. 100% annoyed he didn't play more in the preseason. 100%.

  20. The site is blinking on my android?
  21. 100 times out of 100 another team signs SWR. How is he even a discussion? Unreal The other four? I hope they are gone. Clemens is thirty, and not good. Move on.
  22. It was a terrible trade. No one that strikes out that much is fixable.
