This was going to be my point exactly, I think its all in his head. That first start in OAK had one of the most raucous crowds you're likely to hear in August. I think that clearly rattled him. I've also seen instances where when he does walk a guy instead of coming after the next guy, he nibbles, loses more composure and things spiral from there... I'm still fully on the May bandwagon his strike percentage last night through the first handful of innings was great. And it was great to see him pitch well and more confidently once he had a lead.

The contract is a pointless conversation. 1. The Twins had no choice. 2. It's history. 3. They still have plenty of money. Can we really just move on past Mauers contract? We've had the pleasure of watching one of the best players to wear a Twins uniforms in our life times yet somehow how he's vilified. I fully expect him to put up similar numbers to his career averages for the next couple of years. With a supporting cast that actually looks like ball players for the first time in 3+ years, maybe there is hope.

There's absolutely no valid reason to bring in another SS, especially one who would cost more than the 3 options you already have.

They don't need to call him up at all. We have so many quality pitchers, we should just leave all of our assets in AAA where they can languish away until their arms fall off. Wait til 2016 to bring him up, I say! UGH! SO frustrated with the way this team manages their young pitchers.

Gardy said it best when talking about Arcia after the game on Sunday...I'm paraphrasing...."the kid is working so hard, he comes in everyday and gives everything he has, I have no worries there with him, because he's working so hard" Danny Valencia didn't get this sort of embrace, I'm sure because he was too busy "swagging out" to focus on baseball.

Simply put, the Twins are dicks when it comes to giving prospects and Twins fans what they deserve. They love promoting hitting prospects too soon and holding pitchers back too long. In my mind this logic should be 100% reversed considering the wear and tear on a pitchers arm.

This has been a great read on the comments but one thing that rings true is simply "Does Minnesota really have 5 guys better?" The argument in my mind starts and ends right there. They cannot tell fans they're trying to win yet not have guys here who've clearly proven they're ready for their chance. I have not heard a single argument ever that validates May and Meyer both wasting their innings in a league that they're better than.

I'm firmly on the fence here...I believe the turnaround will be faster than you believe, but at the same time I totally understand the value here. Considering this is really a non-talker (since it will never happen). I'll just stay right where I am on this one.

Part of the reason I follow Twins Daily is to find the happy stories in the minors. I really like the direction things are going, we're starting to see that the high draft picks the Twins keep making are coming out of the gate very well. Those were picks they couldn't miss on and so far so good!

Very un-Twins and very cool. I don't care if he goes 0-20 as long as he gets to play. I can't come up with a single reason that Florimon should start over Polanco.

Pretty excited to see Gonsalves again. Agreed though, wondering why he didn't get a call to CR.

Yet the Twins will continue to pencil him into the starting lineup because that's what they do!

I'm looking forward to another trip down to Cedar Rapids early this season. Would you expect that Stewart, Felix Jorge, Gonsalves and Eades could all be there to start the season? They wouldn't hold any of them back for EST, would they? Any other names you expect will start there?
