  1. No, he's pretty much done as a baseball player. The only question remaining is if he family will come pick him up in the cities or if the Twins will buy a one way ticket for him.
  2. What would you say if I told you he got a standing ovation for NOT striking out?
  3. jee bus..Quintana has struck out Sano AND Park on pitches that weren't called
  4. our two third baseman trying to start a rally!
  5. what's that shadow across the field? Is that the shadow of the new netting they put up behind the dugouts?
  6. Escobar made a throw in the dirt to first that Mauer couldn't handle. Then Esco let the ball slip during the transfer trying to turn a dp but the ump rightly gave him the out. Then Molitor wanted to go out and challenge that it was an illegal slide, which on replay was shown to be the tamest slide you'll ever see. Then, the foul ball...
  7. This comment is no longer accurate
  8. This is as bad an inning you can have without allowing any runs...
  9. I'm not sure Perkins can be top tier again until he gets his arm loose and his mid 90s fastball back. Until then I'm hoping for some creative problem solving from Ryan and Molitor and Eddie, banishing away roles (7th inning guy, 8th inning guy), using more information supplied by the analytics department, calling up some younger guys who can throw heat or strike out lefties, cutting ties with a couple other guys sooner rather than later. Better that we not wait around to act, simply to increase the sample size of things we already know.
  10. wait I'm confused. Did he throw behind the batter, or behind the guy in the on deck circle? (don't answer that; I saw the pitch)
  11. agree, though not because god will help us mount a comeback tonight, but it also sets Perk up for a day off tomorrow, and then available for the home opener Monday. This is your Silver Linings moment.
  12. Agree ashburyjohn. The only "normal" base is probably third base.
  13. Agree - if it was Arcia's spot up with 2 men on versus a lefty, instead of Rosario's spot, then Arcia would have been pinch hit for.
  14. Good news--we knocked out KC's starter and got to their bullpen! oh wait
  15. I'm more of a "a nun and two goats board a train in Cleveland" type of joke guy. h/t Dark Star RIP
  16. I don't see chief here, so.... yes.
  17. Just for the record: Danny Santana, infielder by trade, left the game after hurting himself playing outfield. You may resume your joviality
  18. At least Arcia looks good in right
