  1. another curve ball that breaks right through the heart of the plate, called a ball
  2. I did a quick roster check--Blue Jays have plenty of LOOGIES so Kepler will probably face a lefty in late innings regardless. Just a matter if you want him in the game beyond that at bat.
  3. I would have put up four fingers to intentionally walk Morales after Hildy fell behind 3-0 ha ha, he came back and struck him out!
  4. Literally cut right through the center of the strike zone
  5. pitching change this is why they pay Molitor the big bucks
  6. another umpire with the ball/strike calls printed on the inside of his eyelids
  7. My two cents: It was Donaldson so the alignment might have been funny, but I think that ball belonged to the left fielder, esp. with runner on third (tag situation even though it was too shallow to tag)
  8. Raul Mondesi, did this very thing a couple years ago with the Royals.
  9. I think the other poster is correct, but perhaps you are saying the front office made a blunder with Moya.
  10. I found that info you referenced. Yes, he had 1 SB and 1 CS against him this year. Last season 2 SB and 3 CS which looks promising, but that was A ball and not gonna look at those individually. Interestingly, the stolen base off him this year was by Ryan Walker of Chattanooga, in the 11th inning of a tie game. Anyone by chance happen to see that and can report on Moya's move or delivery on a steal attempt? Also interesting, is that the caught stealing this year was on a play scored C-2B-1B (with no one else on base, no double steal), indicating it might have been more of a rundown than a true steal attempt. Maybe the runner was so flustered he got a terrible jump and tried to turn around? It's all irrelevant for now as Moya is not likely to pitch in a situation where a stolen base is a real concern, but it would still be nice to see him deal with a good baserunner. I don't think he could get by with that motion as a righty.
  11. I agree completely. I think Escobar is very valuable, as a player who can come off the bench in a game but also step into a position and play every day for several weeks and continue to hit, as he has done this year and in 2015 at short.
  12. Well I'm not happy with the way the Dodgers shopped De Leon to us last offseason.
  13. Between Escobar, Polanco, Adrianza, and even Dozier, I would guess Escobar seems like the odd man out this winter. It's too bad as he's one of my favorites. Polanco as a trade piece might attract a very good pitcher in return, provided another team is willing to deal in good faith (unlike the Dodgers).
  14. High heat hard to lay off, but Grossman swung at ball four
