  1. I’m glad the rest of the inmates let you put the Twins game on tonight!
  2. Do you think he’s buying green bananas again, after this winning streak?
  3. I think it was supposed to say FUN but didn’t get finished, like the bart Simpson tattoo
  4. That's good news, thanks. 'Good' news. At the end of the clip, when Rocco was on the field talking to Buxton, Buxton had the look of a starting pitcher who didn't want to come out of the game. (I'm sure you all have discussed this elsewhere.) So my hope is that Buxton knew he took a hit but also knew that he was all right. Let's hope he's in the dugout tonight at least?
  5. Peter is always welcome on this Forum!!!😃😃 We need the sense of urgency! 🥰😂😂👍💯⚾🤨 😂 (seriously buddy, hope to see you tonight) 🙂
  6. Keep running out the same lineups, the pitchers know their roles, good things will keep happening. Cleveland and KC are coming up later this month. Buxton has now started 13 straight games as CF. My guess is that is the longest game streak in his career. Wherever his mind is right now, keep it there!
  7. It's not 1-0? The guy who hit the home run failed to step on home plate after his home run trot, or something?
  8. so the days of GAME OVER are behind us now that we can score runs aagain?? 🙂
  9. "Is that a sunflower tattooed on the inside of your thigh, or are you just..."
  10. Pictured: A guy I think might be Griffin Jax, and Joe Ryan. :)
  11. “Remember, if you are driving downtown for the Wolves game tonight, watch out for Twins traffic.” - Justin Gaard, KFAN greatest line I have heard in a while 🙂
  12. Lewis is relevant to this conversation to the extent that the front office has no idea what to do with him. You and I can agree on a lot, but we won’t agree on Royce Lewis. I would have Lewis in the Twins lineup starting at shortstop against the Orioles Tuesday night. So let’s say the Twins lose, Lewis looks a little sluggish in the field, and goes 0-4 at the plate, with some missed chances to knock some runs in? Pat him on the back and say “get ‘em tomorrow”
  13. The “Royce Lewis problem” is a problem of the Twins’ own making. Detroit is 8-4 since moving Javy Baez to center field. Baez is 12-34 since then and has homered in three straight games. (Small sample.) Talk about trying something new and hitting on it!
  14. I respect this. Although I know you include Royce Lewis in this group of full time designated hitters, I do not. I think the team has an obligation to play Lewis at his drafted position and give him some run. If he plays well (enough) at third or short, and proves you wrong, all the better. If he plays subpar for too long, like Julien, then at least the rest of us fans can arrive at a consensus. A first overall pick with the “it” factor that Royce Lewis has, deserves as much.
  15. If anything, I think the Pohlads have been too hands-off. The conservative era of gentleman’s baseball under Terry Ryan had stopped working, and now the Derek Falvey application of StatCast baseball has clearly stopped working. It looks like the media is finally coming around, but it’s a few years too late, in my opinion. (off topic, but i can point you to an exact date…) I still have a ton of faith in this organization and the guys who work out of the limelight to get this organization turned around again. Think Mike Radcliff, who passed away in 2023. Or think of higher public profile guys like Paul Molitor and Dan Gladden who are still very involved and can spot winners.
  16. Can I take a crack at it? I think it also comes down to Lee did not advance because he was not expecting France to try to advance. The rule of thumb has always been, “If it’s hard hit to the left side of the infield, hold your base until it goes through.” This is how kids have been coached if they are on second or third, no force play, and less than two outs, for hundreds of years. 🙂 So whether Lee missed a sign or France hallucinated a sign that wasn’t there, Lee’s instinct kicked in once the ball was hit, and Lee expected France to stay at third. So, Lee stayed at second. At this point we can talk about decisions being taken out of players hands since the StatCast era came in, no more two-strike approaches at the plate, no more rogue base stealing or baserunning decisions being made out there (thankfully that is now changing the past couple seasons), but that’s a whole nuther discussion. So that’s my twist on it. There’s no way France or any other average runner breaks for home on that ground ball on their own accord, 10-15 years ago.
  17. You know one of Baldelli’s jobs is to write the lineup card, right? Gasper at DH and batting leadoff today, Brooks Lee 8th, Julien on the bench? (against a RHP)?
  18. Once you get to the late innings, there is not a world of difference whether the score is 2-1 or 8-7 or whatever. You do your thing at that point, and hopefully it works out. I’m sure Rocco didn’t want that Varland-Manzardo matchup in the 9th but Cleveland has a lot of lefty hitters up and down the lineup, and I’m thinking Rocco saw Coulombe as the 10th inning guy last night, tried to squeeze an inning out of Varland, and it didn’t work out.
  19. That is really sad to hear. He should have all the time in the world to get better, but is at the cortison shot stage already, similar to Alex Kirilloff.
  20. Would be nice to see the Twins come out smokin, hang a 7-spot or something in the first inning, to punctuate all this rain delay silliness
  21. But yes, “we have no update” is also an update that could be used more
  22. First pitch now announced as 8:20 CDT Play ball!!
