  1. I believe that the Twins should listen to all trade proposals, but I do not believe in trading Dozier right now for the sake of trading him away, just to get "something" in return. It makes zero sense. At some point, if the Twins want to win games, they need to keep good players around. Dozier is still fairly young and a good baseball player. He could be a key piece to a future winning baseball team. I understand the Twins trading away a guy like Willingham or Correia, but Dozier? No. I really like the way Dozier plays the game and I'd rather just keep him on the team and see how the team comes together over the next few years.
  2. It would be nice to see Dozier in the HR derby. He has earned it. At the same time, I don't think Willingham or Arcia would be terrible candidates either.
  3. Guerrier fails again. This is how he managed to keep a decent ERA, despite pitching poorly, over the years. He comes out, gives up a couple of hits and runs, which count against the starting pitcher, not him! Then he gets yanked and unless you watch the games, you'd never know it. Guerrier has been doing this for years.
  4. I like TK and Morris.
  5. Sinking ship so far. They'll have to sweep the Yankees to get back to treading water. A win tomorrow would be a bonus.
  6. Nice come from behind win!
  7. Should be an interesting game... I hope it's not a case of another former Twin coming back to bite us.
  8. Nice win, it's great to be over .500 again!
  9. Burton throwing batting practice again.. I used to really like watching this guy pitch.
  10. Poor guy fell off of a cliff.
  11. Deduno haters sure are quiet today..
  12. Suzuki has been putting good wood on the ball today even though the Mariners caught his last two hits.
  13. Deduno seems rattled? Angel Hernandez looks rattled based on his behavior! His gestures to the Twins dugout and to the mound. If Deduno is rattled, it's because of the home plate umpire's behavior. I don't think I've ever see an umpire be so rattled over something so minor. Deduno took a couple of steps towards the dugout on a pitch he thought was strike 3. It was close, but it was a ball. Deduno is doing a good job so far.
  14. The Twins have to let these young guys play (in AAA or MLB) and us fans need to be patient and see how they turn out. Some of these guys are 25 or younger and need more time. Hicks has all of the tools he needs to be an every day starter. He just needs to keep working hard and hopefully things work out for him. When I look at Santana, I see a young player with good tools, not just a guy with "hustle," but he needs more development. He's fast, has a strong arm, and can put a charge into the ball. I'm just not sure if he can be reliable enough defensively or put up good hitting numbers long-term. I see potential there, it may just take a while. Escobar is playing good enough right now. Time will tell if he can keep putting up respectable hitting numbers. When I look at the line up, I'm convinced guys like Mauer, Dozier, and Suzuki are players you don't really have to worry about. Everyone knows what they bring to the table. However, guys like Colabello, Escobar, Santana, Hicks, Plouffe, Parmelee, Aarcia.. etc... only time will tell. They just need to keep playing. So far Plouffe seems to have taken a step forward. Defensively, there is no doubt.
  15. Escobar is a well-rounded baseball player, but I don't think he has the tool set to be great defensively. His arm is good enough and accurate enough, but not as strong as Florimon's or Santana's. His range is okay, but not great, and his play making ability is decent, but not breathtaking like a Dozier or Florimon. Not that I've seen yet, anyways. On the other hand, Escobar's hitting good this year, but perhaps it's a small sample size. If Escobar wants to have a career as an every day starter, he will have to continue putting up good offensive numbers, which is no easy feat at the MLB level.
  16. Cleveland scored 15 runs yesterday against the Jays. Not saying the Jays have the best pitching or are the best defensive team in the league, but Cleveland doesn't have a terrible team.
  17. Looks like Perkins is buying Hicks, Suzuki, and probably Hughes, steaks tonight. Nice win! Nice series win!
  18. Okay Parmelee.. remember what you did a couple of days ago? We need you to do that again today.
  19. Another SS making a mistake in the outfield..
  20. It would be nice if Joe would drive the ball a little harder with the bases loaded and the team down by 6... It's painful watching those duck snort, inning ending, double plays.
  21. The Twins didn't think David Ortiz was a MLB baseball player, so he plays like the World Series MVP that he is, whenever he plays against the Twins.
  22. Gardy will make him tape it up, then bring him out tomorrow to give up another lead!
