  1. I been following the twins farm system for awhile and I don't think i have ever been as excited for a group of prospects the twins have had. I would never say that in five or so years that they will win a world series. But as a group I would say that this is best group of propects that the twins have had ever. I think that a lot could go wrong, but based of the potential of this group, I would say that the twins are going to be really really good for a long time.
  2. I think that Baseball America did a analysis saying it was possible for them to take buxton and mcCullers. I should say that since last night I've come to realize that this is what the astro's wanted to do so while we should critize them for it and i do. We should also reconize they got a good player/s not the best player and they were trying to fill holes. I have to say that I think that I feel like the Astro's draft last is a little like the Rays draft in 2010 or the twins draft in 2004 were their trying to get multiple hole fillers, not going after the best player they could. A maybe it works maybe it doesn't. We will have to see in a couple of years. I do think buxton will make the astro's lose sleep for years to come.
  3. The Astros did just fine by themselves. It would be patently unfair to criticise their decision. I can criticize their decision more this year. first off the non of those players are as good as buxton, period. secondly, they could of drafted buxton and all those players, if they wanted to they had the most money. third, on every mock draft I can remember I cant remember correa being the number one player overall yes he was in the top five, but it was always buxton or appel. fourth, yes baseball is a team sport but wouldn't you want to have buxton and berrios over correa and mucullers? I would.
  4. not to be sarcastic but leaving hicks in aaa will do wonders for his confendence.
  5. Oddly enough I'm going to with angel Moreles just based on the fact that , A he's been injured B the twins seem to have a surplus of outfielders. C. he seems to have been in the twins organization forever. i think that he just get's overlooked for that fact. seth the other guys you mention we seem to talk about allot. but it is True if you aren't in the first five to ten prospects or drafted in the first five rounds you tend to get overlooked, don't know if that is right or wrong though.
  6. here is a big question buxton and sano are the two best prospects in the system, who is the most overlooked?
  7. um, let's wait until he actually makes the majors and produces before we drop anymore money on him. I think he's going to be special, but dropping a long term contract isn't going to get to produce any more than he already has.
  8. Saying a 6-4 18-year-old lacks projection is irresponsible, at the very least. aren't all draft picks projectable in on way or another
  9. for some reason we seem to draft pitchers that are over 6'8 but manage throw like 90. I do like this pick though.
  10. You realize Denney wasn't going to be cheap, the Twins may have not had it in the budget. I realize that you can't get real excited about anyone you probably you can't sign, but it would nice for once if the twins went for someone with upside potential in the later rounds rather than doing what the twins do which is stick to slot and draft guys like turner who is basiclly like every other catcher the twins have draft since joe mauer.
  11. And Denney goes three picks after him. For real? my point exactly
  12. yes! we drafted drew butera again in the 3rd round
  13. so who goes at 43 boldt if he's there?
  14. Stewart, I like the pick don't get me wrong. But he worries me basically for the reason that he is a type one diabetic. I know he's been dealing with it his whole life and he plays football which is a demanding sport, however I just think that during the long baseball season he's going to wear down. That said I think he was the best player available and i'm glad the twins got him.
  15. I think it really depends what you value more in a prospect. If you like five tool prospects buxton your guy. Power hitters Sano. It's like trying to ask who's better ( babe ruth or mickey mantle, and no I'm not comparing them to two HOF that would be stupid) Personally, I as much as I love Sano, I have to say that just because the defence that Bux provides he's probably going to do more for you organization than Sano if the turn out the way that they are supposed to turn out. However have the two best prospects in baseball is pretty cool.
  16. I'd take Appel for obvious reasons. He's the best in pitcher in the draft right now. And my feeling is that you always take guys that have the opportunity to be good possible 1's. That said what it is going to take to sign is probably going to hamstring you for the next ten rounds. I also think that if the astro's are dumb enough to pass on a player they should have taken last year, ( They were also stupid enough not to take buck) then he still doesn't fall to the twins.
  17. the past two have been pretty good, the leave out a guys with potential ( a dirty word I know) D.J Hicks. I didn't like the michael pick.
