  1. I willing to bet that he may make the team out of spring training 2014, but then who do you move?
  2. I don't either however hypotheticlly if they were going to trade with the tigers. If I was general manager, which I would demand their top prospect for my closer, which is Castellanos i think. With the tigers the was i see it is that if they see their bullpen as a weakness then perkins is ever some much vauleable to them. One, he only started closing this year, and maybe some last year. so you can put him anywhere in you bullpen. two we don't have to trade him. so to me unless your going to give what we want I'm not going to just give him to you because your asking, and offer me some guys that have some projection.
  3. castellanos could move to first a postion the twins don't have and you can never have to much hitting.
  4. If any trade partner made sense it's this one. They need a top line closer we have one. they allegedly want to win now, so if that's true it is within reason to ask of one of if not their top prospectCastellanos.
  5. i think your going to have to give a guy who 11 of his 16 hits were for extra bases and has 82 abats at that level and is 20 years old a little more time before you drop his prospect ranking. just a thought.
  6. All i'm saying basicilly is that what you could have gotten for willingham at the start of the season and what you could get for him now has dropped. So while I don't expect them to esp, it is fair assume that willingham might have more value at the start of the season come off two seasons of hitting 29 and 35 home runs then what his value is now, which is much less. That being said I think the flaws of willingham you talked about is part of the reason he doesn't draw a big prospect, but who ever we get back if we trade him I like the odds of terry ryan finding something because I see this as front office strength. do you agree?
  7. my only point about about willingham is that it is easier to get something for him when he had just hit thirty five homers then when he was hitting 215. your probably going to get a better prospect. I trust terry ryan, he got David ortiz for dave hollins, I trust his judgement more often then he finds players. So if last year he shopped willingham and didn't get anything that could help you i'm glad he didn't make the trade. I just find it odd that willingham had a silver slugger season and couldn't get a very good propect for him. while he got meyer, for span, and worley and May for revere. I'll give you they are younger, still i wonder what he got offered that was so bad, aside from sulbran
  8. This my problem with the twins. They have asset and they hang on to it to long. So the fact that they didn't trade willingham at the start of the season didn't suprise me. this what they do. They are in rebuilding mode, so everyone expect mauer, and the players there trying to delvelop. Any why shouldn't trade mauer, first off the twins hold two of the top ten propects and anyone they get back would not be comprobable to them. Second, why trade your best player, whenour teams is build around him.
  9. read in the startrib that asst GM for scouting or something I don't remeber his name said 93-96.
  10. I say this as I know that the reds are willing to trade with us but being what we have to trade. I dont see a case where we get stephenson.
  11. A good problem to have. And if that happens the trade possiblities are endless.
  12. I think as far as this team and exicitment deduno is about as good as it's going to get. That's probably that a he has good stuff that for whatever reason while he has more an idea where it's going you never know. For 2014 I think it will be more steps foreword by the hicks, Parmelees, Arcias, Gibsons, and the like. And the introductions if We are lucky of Sano, Buxton (who maybe at AA at the end of the year),Meyer, and maybe another at some point in the year. To a certain extent, and I don't know if you agree with this I think part of the twins problem is that they don't have any players that outwordly show that they hate to lose. That is why I think you don't get alot of the hustle plays, to a certain extent it's contaigous. And that is what worry's me about some of the prospects coming in the system. There is no A-hole.
  13. I like Hicks I think in my own opinion that he's going to be really good, to some extent he's frusterated me for time to time when he was in the minors. I've always thought that like buxton has now that he should have produced more but it is what it is, and I think he has a great future andpart of his struggles have to do with the fact that he was hitting leadoff, to start off the season. But my hope for him is to be batting 240 by the end of the season, which form where he was at the start of the season would be accomplishment.
  14. dude, I believe in the twins, so much so that when NYT bashes them , I want to remind them that from 1980 to 1995 they didn't so much as sniff the playoffs when i was growing up out there. I feel you there. I do agree that there was a chance that at the start of the season if mauer morneau and willingham had been hitting as they should in key spots, and the starting pitching had been better we would have been in a better sititution. But still as much as I want to think that the twins are going to win the world series every year, I think I knew that whlie there would be improvement, this would be a rebuilding and get a high draft pick year.
  15. I'm less crabby now. I do see the twins taking a step forward. And think that we do play in a weak division but that being said I don't think in looking at the twins at the start of the season and where they now I think that for me they are where i though they would be and if they did finish over 500 that would be a major miricle.
  16. maybe it's just that I crabby this morning, but on what planet did anyone think that the twins were going to the playoffs this year? Step forward maybe. But the fact that their in last and under .500 should be a suprise to no one. I hate these articles, shows me he has nothing to write.
  17. I can't agrue with the tiers most of the first two I agree with completely, I think Arcia is a one.I do note you have a thing for Kepler I do not.
  18. Stewart has rare tools that make him an elite pitcher regardless if he has pitched in the pros or not. so did Brien Taylor. I think until these guy hit and pitch at higher levels some this is just wishful thinking. But I think I will be Suprised if at least a half dozen maybe more are not very good Major league player. then again people were saying the same thing about the royals and look at them now.
  19. I didn't inculde stewart because he hasn't pitched a full season. Or gibson, aaron hicks, and arica all which I would in the well above average catagory but are in the bigs and don't really count. I'm going to get killed for hicks but I do like him he just needs at bats. Why they sent down Arcia to the minors twice is beyond me. I'm chairman of his ROY campaign if I maybe be so bold.
  20. and I was thinking best prospect class since the early eighties, late nineties
  21. I would go Buxton, Sano, Rosario for the bats, I should inculde Arcia even though he's in the bigs and won't be back down. Pitchers I think that Meyer just based on stuff alone is the only one that has a chance to be a ace. But I wouldn't count out Berrios. But after there are the guys I like and think they will meet there potential but have work to do DJ Hicks, Vargas, Harrison, Boyd, santana, Planaco, Kepler, May, Goodrum, I can keep thinking of names which is what I like because two-three years ago I couldn't do that.
  22. I think I've probably said this before but for some I've never been as excited for a group of twins prospects since I've been following them. Now they could all disappoint me but as a group I think that if you look at our prospects a bunch of them could be really good . I am just wondering if anyone feels the same way.
  23. Look it boils down to this. If I really wanted to get in to the in's and outs of estate, and tax law. I would just do my job. Look is really news that the pohlads don't like to spend their money on the team? Is it news that they are cheap?
  24. you're all so negative this is um good news
  25. I love the talk of "oh leave hicks in AAA". Please, first off he's only player on the 40 man we have that can handle CF in the big leagues right now. second, the only reason he was in AAA was that he was injured. To improve his hitting against big league pitching you have to get big league at bats. He's 23,has about 200 big league at bats, and up until the time he pulled his hamstring, although he wasn't setting the world on fire he was improving. Every one wants to talk long term plan but it seems anytime anyone struggles. It's always 'this guy sucks' or send him to AAA. My point is he's not going to get any better if you just are going to YO-YO himback and forth from AAA to the Bigs.
