  1. I do not forsee Clete playing a lot. This move is necessary for a back up CF and someone who can be easily let go of once WIlkin returns. Hicks is still going to play everyday. Now he might get a day off once and a while.
  2. How long do you think doumit will be a Twin?
  3. It amazes me how people are looking at Hicks. He struggled really bad at the beginning of the year, and he probably is still only in the majors because of injuries. But I also think Hicks is going to continue to figure things out in the Majors. He was 3 for 4 today (double and triple batting left handed), but just watching him daily, it is clear that he is going to turn things around. That being said, you cannot really look at his BA and say he is awful and needs to be sent down. Just wait until after the season, if you say something stupid like, "he is going to be a platooner."
  4. Is Arcia really not able to be called up? I know he is a little banged up, but he could still pinch hit for pitchers in Washington and play DH in KC. If Arcia is able to be called up, I really think he is the only logical choice to come up besides maybe Thomas.
  5. I heard reports that Wilkin is not ready to come off the DL because he is still experiencing symptoms from his concussion.
  6. I thought Deduno did fantastic tonight, but his ceiling will be as high as his command allows it to be. No one really doubts that his stuff is pretty nasty, but the amount of walks (and hit batsmen) could hurt Deduno. That being said, I am rooting for him. Just seeing his reactions tonight to Hick's and Parmalee's catches is reason to hope he succeeds. He sure loves baseball.
  7. Another sub par outing for Salcedo. Gave up two runs on two hits in one inning of relief. He stuck out one batter, but walked two. Raising the ERA to 5.32.
  8. I really like Hicks. Even though he has struggled this year a bit, I think he will be really good, but that might just be my optimism.
  9. Yeah I am watching Gameday for NB, and listening to the Twins on the radio. If only there was someone to watch for in AAA tonight.... I guess I can watch Arcia's at bats.
  10. Meanwhile, Baxendale in his AA debut two shutout innings thus far.
  11. Little tired. Mauer kept him up on the plane last night.
  12. Since I am not able to watch the games, I have to listen to the radio. It is a great joy to listen to the Twins broadcast. Great Article.
  13. .161 we are getting closer and closer to .200
  14. Would Carrol have been thrown out at first?
  15. Well he is still a prospect, so he is working on developing that third pitch.
  16. Do you think Harrison will be promoted to Fort Myers this year?
  17. For this reason, we are Twins fans. So we should hope the Astros do make a dumb decision. Then, we are able to get one of the top three guys in this draft. Here's to the Astros!
  18. Not a very good outing last night for Salcedo. Gave up 3 runs, 2 earned over two innings. 4 hits, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Raises year era to 4.71.
  19. Colabello has been mashing at AAA. Why would we call anyone other them him at this point especially when they are not ready.
  20. Nice, Gardy is the GM now. When did this happen?
  21. Salcedo's low-90s fastball and overall raw stuff have always gotten positive reviews, but even before the injury the 6-foot-4 right-hander was trending in the wrong direction. Being a control artist in the majors is one thing, but most successful low-strikeout, low-walk starters actually managed decent strikeout rates in the minors. He's still young enough to bounce back from the lost year of development time, but Salcedo's status as a quality prospect is shaky. (Aaron Gleeman)
