I don't want to take anything away from the players, but I feel my promotion to AA today has been going under the radar on TD and has not gotten the attention it should.
Brock, I have to say, "I love your profile picture." It makes me laugh every time I see it. I really have nothing to say about what you posted, but I have been meaning to tell you that for a creepily long time.
Well, it might have something to do with him actually being a native Minnesotan? Also, I think it is a feel good story. It is easy to cheer for a guy who went to high school in the area. You feel connected to him. People want to connect with the players, and a person being from Minnesota is one way the player is "one of us."
I think the FO was not very positive toward the idea of resigning Morneau (when Morneau and his agent approach the Twins) so some have suggested that the Twins might trade Morneau.
I do not understand people's annoyance with the quality start stat. It is just a benchmark and an easy stat to judge someone's start. We can argue that it should have higher standards, but no one takes into account quality starts in any serious discussion i.e. when voting for the cy young.
I agree at the moment we have only two. But we have two OFers on the DL. Arcia and Parmalee just got sent down. I am sorry if I was not clear, but I meant this season in general, we have had too many OFers for some of them to get consistent playing time.
Not sure about his chances for a Gold Glove, but his chances are higher now that Jeter is hurt. (even though Jeter's defense has gone downhill) I just do not know if he will have the exposure to win the award. But Florimon has been solid for us this year.
You knew Liriano would be great? He has ace written all over him? Do tell when did you think this? Liriano gave us no reason to resign him after his last year for us and in Chicago. I do not buy anyone saying we knew Liriano would be great. We all knew he had potential, but he was never consistent enough to give us the hope he once gave.
From Pioneer Press, "Right-handed pitching prospect Alex Meyer, sidelined since June 1 with a sore shoulder, is scheduled to start a throwing program July 16 and could resume pitching for Double-A New Britain in early August, Antony said."
