  1. Molitor: "Yeah, Mike, we're not going to let you lose this game for us. That's the job of the bullpen."
  2. Okay what is this middle of the game scoring stuff by the Twins? Good job Mr. Plouffe. I wonder who will get the callup when Plouffe goes on leave the end of this month? Also, will Sano play third? Or will Molitor play it safe and use Nunez or Escobar?
  3. Looking like a typical Twins game this year: Score in the first and hope it holds up the rest of the way.
  4. I'm against signing discards to replace our discards. The Twins need to look within at this point or trade for quality. The old saw "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" comes to mind.
  5. I think JR Graham is getting there, though. Alex Meyer though? I just am not sure.
  6. Close, so close. Exciting games, I must admit. My wife is figuring out baseball and she asked if this kind of thing was normal and wonders how I'm able to deal with it. I think my wife is getting the beauty of baseball and how the home team can win like KC did tonight.
  7. You're a Twins fan. Not quite as manic as a Cubs fan, but close. Fortunately, there is no cure, because it is the Twins and therefore completely acceptable.
  8. In looking at the replay, I'm not sure the rookie would have made it even if he'd have gone. Once in a while you get caught and there's no good decision.
  9. More baseball strangeness. I feel a new Twins slogan coming on: "Minnesota Twins: Catch the Weird!"
  10. 5 infielders. Interesting call.
  11. Much as I'd like to malign Fien, that hit by Morales was luck more than anything. Proverbial dying quail.
  12. At the end of this game, I want to be able to say: "Guthrie pitched just well enough to lose."
  13. Dick n Bert were rattling on about Gibson and the confidence shown to Gibson last night, blah blah blah. Dick n Bert were being kind. It wasn't confidence in Gibson so much as it was lack of confidence in the bullpen.
  14. It's quiet around here. It's almost like it's a holiday weekend or something.
  15. Time for the Twins to pound Mr. Guthrie.
  16. It's so much fun to see these kids in the lineup. Win or lose, the Twins have a good youth movement going.
  17. Being the fine upstanding and serious person that I am, I will refrain from gloating. neener neener neener. Then again....
  18. So, I leave for 45 minutes to have dinner with my lovely spouse, come back and it's in the 6th inning already. Told my wife it must be a low scoring game..did not expect the Twins to be up 1-0. I sort of expect that Gibson will scream bloody murder if he is pulled before the 9th inning.
  19. May battled his tail off. Wriggling out of jams is part of the maturing process for a pitcher. (There has to be one more cliche I missed) Good job, Mr. May.
  20. Yes. Although, I think Bert pointed out that Gomez tends to lose his helmet in the batter's box rather than on the base paths.
  21. If it is the odd man out, I'm not sure who the odd pitcher is. Perhaps Pelfrey is the odd pitcher, what with his beekeeper hat during the interview. Since my prognosticatory abilities are nill, I thought I'd go with weird.
