  1. Well, the Twins could certainly use a hit. Any hit.
  2. I swear, whoever came up with the red jersey idea knew the Twins were "dead men walking" this year. Either that, or those uniforms need to be burned with fire until turned to ash and the ashes scattered to the four winds.
  3. Well, after a fun day of tracing cable runs at a Frankenstein monster of a network, I think I'll head home. I will turn on the Twins, but the first time something stupid happens, the game will be turned off.
  4. There's a new promotion being offered: First 10,000 fans get a chance to be a "Twins Bench Player for a Day."
  5. Santana for catcher: Because, he's not John Ryan Murphy.
  6. Ahem, if I may weigh in: As someone who is an expert at flailing, I can easily recognize flailure in others. Make no mistake: The FO and the Manager are flailing wildly rather than calmly assessing the situation.
  7. I thought about looking at this also, but the numbers from the 0-9 streak were discouraging enough.
  8. Notepad>copy and paste>save for future use.
  9. Fire Molitor and bring up Doug Mientkiewicz to manage. Everyone would tune in just in the hope something like this would happen: http://deadspin.com/minor-league-manager-doug-mientkiewicz-started-a-huge-b-1166890514
  10. When I looked at the numbers in Streak Analyzer, teams that start 0-9 do not fair well. Only 1 out of 21 teams, that started the season 0-9, ended the season above 500, the 1983 Houston Astros. (85-77) Since 2000, Detroit twice started off 0-9. (2002 and 2003) Detroit went 55-106 and 43-119, respectively. I know the front office cannot write off the season and they at least need to say all the right cliches, but the knowledgeable fans on this site shouldn't expect a whole lot from this team. My point to the whole thing is this: What does the front office do at this point? The season, more than likely, is beyond saving. Does the front office just start moving players and start a sweeping youth movement? Seriously, this has to be a tough spot. While I think a serious housecleaning is in order, where does one start?
  11. You and I will be going through a flock of crows at the rate the Twins are failing.
  12. I truly thought the team was going to find it's footing after the first 9 losses. After all, the pitching had been doing the job. I've been wrong before, but this is a new level of wrongness.
  13. Nothing should be a surprise by now. Murphy is on, two outs..and does Molitor pinch hit? Nope. Tonkin swings away.
  14. Either that, or a new category will be added to the DSM.
  15. I like that when the game is over, MLB.com tells me "Thank you for watching." Darn right I should be thanked after that.
  16. Okay, time for some wholesale changes with the MLB club. This is not working.
  17. "It's just ugly." Yes, Bert, it most certainly is.
  18. At the rate Murphy is going, Suzuki's option is going to vest.
  19. I wonder if a manager has ever told the pitcher to just put it across the plate, because we cannot continue to play due to lack of pitchers?
  20. Ah, I stand corrected. Okay. I now see the light.
  21. Yeesh, there is 1 out, Werth is up and Dick is talking about Washington's lack of bench players and that the pitcher is in the 4th spot. Really? How about just getting 3 outs and being done with it, Dick.
  22. Yes, and I feel really bad about that. Really really bad. So bad, in fact, that I am going to forget about it in the next...what were we talking about?
