  1. The Pirates have Skenes, Jones, and Chandler all throwing over 100 MPH. They are all young starters who they developed. I don't know what Pittsburgh is doing, but they can sure develop pitchers. (it also helps to have consitently early draft picks)
  2. Kody Clemens is never going to be an All-Star, but he defnitely would have a place on most major league rosters. He probably wouldn't play as much as he does with the Twins, but he is around a league average player.
  3. First 7 pitches of the game were all fastballs over 100. Credits to Kody for turning that one around. He was obviously sitting fastball after both batters before him getting nothing but fastballs.
  4. I like the idea of implementing a salary floor, but there is no way that 175 million will get passed. Small market teams like the Twins will not be willing to raise their payroll by that much.
  5. It's really nice to see Gallagher have a good start as the Twins are short on starters at the Major League Level. He is probably a couple of months away.
  6. I don't think they could do any worse than 0-7 with a 7.74 ERA. He is not giving the Twins a chance to win. Also, this might not be the best team, but we are only 1/2 game back of the wild card
  7. This should be S-W-R last start this season. The Twins have enough options. They don't need to give him any more starts. Try him in the bullpen either as a long relief or one inning guy. If that doesn't work out, DFA him. Someone will probably claim him, but I the Twins can't keep him around if he doesn't pan out in the bullpen.
  8. A couple of things about this game: A. Rikku Nishida is a bit annoying, but he does have a great arm. B. Luke Keaschall had a great defensive game. He had three great plays C. Inteference calls seem to be showing up more lately. First, the Royce Lewis defensive interference call, and now the sliding inteference on Brooks Lee. I didn't like either of those calls even though they were likely the right call. It seems a bit nitpicky D. Great game from Ryan. He and Bradley are a legimiate 1-2 duo on a playoff team. It would be fun to get this Twins rotation with Ryan, Bradley, Ober, and a healthy Abel in the playoffs. With a few additions to the bullpen, we could make a run. E. Go Twins!!!!
  9. It's hard to have sympathy for the Tigers, but they have really disappointed this season. 21-33 and last place in the AL central is a hard pill to swallow for Tigers fans expecting big things this year. I think they will eventually recover to some degree, but they have definitely dug themselves a big hole being 9.5 back of Cleveland already.
  10. Royce hit by a pitch in AAA. Seems to be fine and stayed in the game to run.
  11. That is a bad challenge by Murakami with nobody on in the 1st inning.
  12. Didn't think I'd ever say this, but . . . No Trevor Larnach??
  13. Yoendrys Gomez and Andrew Morris are probably the best relievers in the Twins bullpen right now. Gomez looked really impressive tonight. Also, Caratini and Kriedler . . . as expected
  14. Griffin Jax is through 5 inning of 1 run ball tonight versus the Rays. He has thrown just 62 pitches. Looks like he is finally getting his chance to start, and is running with it.
