  1. To be honest, I'd take an entertaining 100 loss team over this frustrating boring team every day.
  2. You and Hambino are right. This was the right situation for a closer. I stand by my comment that Rocco's seeming aversion to doing anything regular, especially with his lineups, is turrible.
  3. Anyone adept at Baseball Reference that can tell me Duran's splits in save vs non save situation. Dude is a closer. Rocco's insistence on treating the players like stat producing androids drives me crazy. Psychology, flow and momentum are real.
  4. Guy who is happy the world has ended so he can be alone to read and he breaks his glasses. The actor was the guy who played Rocky's corner guy.
  5. People of TD, I have been reading people complain about Provus and I was surprised, because I enjoyed him on the radio, and hadn't watched a game yet. Just got Twins TV for Father's Day, and got to watch some of the game tonight. Oy, I have not enjoyed him. Even more of a homer. So annoying.
  6. The corporatization (prolly not a word) of sports sucks. Let's have fun and not be beholden to spreadsheets while trying to avoid saying anything that actually means anything. Oh yeah, and get off my lawn.
  7. It is refreshing to see Rocco give up and let his pitchers throw 100 or more pitches as some kind of weird punishment for not performing well.
  8. For all the Falvey hate, he's done a good job on the one year rental players so far.
  9. Vegas is weirdly optimistic about the Twins chances, about every game.
  10. Who wants to take on a $33M/yr contract for a below average hitter who's no longer an elite defender? I think we'll be stuck with him for a while.
  11. OK I take it back. Bride pitching for the 4th time in 15 days isn't embarrassing. Being so far behind the team that's AHEAD puts in a position player to pitch, now that's embarrassing.
  12. Just remember Jonah, you can't get all 5 back with one swing.
  13. So I'm older now, and I've accepted that the Series is probably a bridge too far for any Twins team, but at least I used to enjoy watching games. This team just frustrates me a lot. I'd rather have a fun team that won less than a painful team that makes it to the playoffs and poops.
  14. I think he's a good guy who fell into believing he was as amazing as the fan base wanted him to be. MLB history is full of guys who are elite for a season and then get figured out. I still think he can be very good but not the HOFer we all wanted him to be.
  15. I suddenly had an image of one of our sluggers trying to do the Bo Jackson and break the bat over his knee and it going horribly wrong.
  16. He's 26, in his 4th MLB season, and he's played in 182 games. Ouch.
  17. Today's gut-based analysis - we'll score some runs. We seem to hit better against good pitchers.
  18. I don't blame Royce. It's crummy for him. I don't understand the rash of lower body injuries the Twins suffer, nor do I understand fans, many on here, who think that one guy with limited MLB experience (Lewis, Keaschall, etc) will turn our team around. I get being excited about a player but this squad has never been one player away from being very good.
  19. Pro tip - don't build your team's hopes on a player who gets hurt running to first base.
  20. Tell me baseball fans are old without telling me baseball fans are old. 😉
