  1. Is it good to be below average in literally everything except for extension?
  2. Julien needs to find a new profession, he's not very good at this one.
  3. Our "defense first" catcher is so stout behind the plate that Ramirez beats the throw by 5 steps on an intentional pitchout and is willing to steal third with the game on the line.
  4. Barometer series, first game you thought maybe they figured out how to not get embarassed by Cleveland, nope same lame duck manager and organization.
  5. Probably because it works in practice with the Twins terrible defense
  6. Only the Twins and Rocco Baldelli could turn 2nd and 3rd no outs into 1st and 2nd 1 out
  7. It's a great day to watch my favorite players, Mickey Gasper, Kody Clemens, DeShawn Kiersey, and Christian Vasquez, play baseball!
  8. Playing tight low scoring games against a team with a better bullpen and better at moving runners over and playing small ball. Surely the outcome will be different this time!
  9. Bingo. Twins don't take these games seriously enough, hence why they're 15-30 over the last 3 years against Cleveland. Cle will strategically line up pitchers for series against us but we could care less that our #4-5 Chris Paddack faces their #1 Tanner Bibee (although Paddack did decently yesterday) they give themselves better chances to win while Twins treat it like interleague play against the Marlins. And then when we (rarely) have the clear pitching advantage on a day like today Rocco sends out a throw lineup. What inning do you think Vasquez comes in the game?
  10. This lineup can't be for real. I'm happy our great manager is giving us the best chance to beat the main competition in the division!
  11. Another year of crapping the bed against Cleveland. Twins treat these as just another game, Cleveland understand these games make the most difference in the standings, but Twins can't understand it might be good to not lose 2/3 of your games against your main competition in the division. I remember numerous times they've adjusted their rotation for upcoming series against the Twins so their top guys are lined up to pitch while Twins treat it like an interleague series against the Marlins. In the rare case the Twins actually do beat this team they throw position players for multiple innings to save their bullpen for remaining games while Rocco burns through the whole staff giving each guy 1 inning at a time. Season series 2022: 13-6 Cleveland, 2023: 7-6 Cleveland, 2024 10-3 Cleveland, 15-30 in the last 3 years. Embarassing.
  12. Yes, Cleveland is the result of combining both analytics and strategy, instead of being solely ran off of a regression to the mean algorithm and an Excel spreadsheet like the Twins.
  13. Another year of pissing down our legs against Cleveland. Twins treat these as just another game, Cleveland understand these games make the most difference in the standings, but Twins can't understand it might be good to not lose 75% of your games against a team you play 13 times a year. I remember numerous times they've adjusted their rotation for upcoming series against the Twins so we have to face their top guys while Twins treat it as just another series. And they throw position players for multiple innings in games they already know are lost while Rocco burns through the whole staff giving each guy 1 inning at a time.
  14. Exactly, that's why the pitching staff ERA has been lower with Jeffers catching in both 2023 and 2024, can't keep a guy like that off the roster.
  15. Vasquez calling all those fastballs in a row, even if Paddack shakes you off it's your job as a catcher to overrule that. I'm throwing a party in October when his contract finally expires.
  16. At this point we should be more concerned with how we stack up against those teams in terms of draft lottery ping pong balls for next year.
  17. Team is pathetic. I'm happy I kept the channel locked on the Wolves tonight. It's extremely refreshing to watch a team that lives for the moment and rises to the occasion. That's what good culture and environment looks like, and the Twins certainly don't have anything close to it.
  18. Jax will have to throw like 40 straight innings of scoreless ball from here on out to match last year's ERA. He's lost a lot of money this year and it's completely deserved.
  19. Yeah because he's faced the Dodgers, Padres, Phillies, and Rays. We're a single A lineup compared to any of those.
  20. Big league debut in a hostile environment, looked like the one of the most impactful guys on the field, some guys have it and some guys don't. But Rocco's spreadsheets tell him Jax's xFIP should regress to the mean
  21. Because Bryce Elder sucks, when they put in actual big league guys it's more of the same we've seen all year. Tomorrow is an auto loss with Chris Sale on the mound, especially with SWR opposing him
  22. Use games like this to weed out the good ones and the bad ones who can't handle the pressure. Keaschall - keeper, Jax - don't really care if you never pitch a game for the Twins again
  23. Seems like the Chair Force didn't make Jax any mentally tougher.
  24. Not sure how Jax can even look his teammates in the eye at this point. Team would legitimately be .500 without him. And Falvey and co. continually get burned buying high on relievers yet they refuse to sell one at peak value.
