  1. Danny Santana played RF? Is this the Twins giving themselves RF options so they can move Sano back to third base? Or is my tin foil hat a little too tight?
  2. Not only that, but the club spent the better part of 5 years telling us how competent he looked at third base. So either they were lying they or they are lying now. The path of least resistance would suggest they are lying now since theyou kept him at third base in the minors. They'd have tried him in the OF then if they truly thought he couldn't play third.
  3. Agreed.
  4. You would think these are scenarios the GM would have considered before assembling this bizzaro roster.
  5. Except he won't sit every day. If he was going to sit on the bench he wouldn't have needed a couple weeks in Rochester to shake the rust off. Everyone knows that if he's on the roster the Twins will feel compelled to give him some starts. We have seen it a thousand times with this club.
  6. Forget just current mlb, that might be the worst of defense of my lifetime.
  7. I said IF the everyday OF was Sano, Arcia and Rosario. Do you not agree that would be a problem with a starting staff that doesn't miss many bats? With buxton in the OF they've been fine.
  8. If you read the whole post then why did you respond that pitching hasn't been the problem, even though my post didn't say or even imply that it was?
  9. The Twins don't want a pitcher of Berrios potential retching free agency before age 30. They will find excuse after excuse to keep Berrios in the minors.
  10. It will be if the everyday OF is Arcia, Sano and Rosario. Next time maybe read the whole post before replying?
  11. Either Buxton needs to figure it out at the plate, or May, Berrios and Meyer ( yes, I said AND the three of them, not or) need to be put in the rotation. The rotation as constructed isn't capable of missing bats. You give them an OF of Arcia, Rosario, Sanor, combined with an offense that just struck out 17 times against a PTC pitcher, and this club may flirt with 115 losses.
  12. Ryan will wait until he has a bad outing so he can say he needs to be more consistent. Berrios belonged in the rotation to start the season, spring training means absolutely nothing. He didn't suddenly get better in 2 weeks in aaa.
  13. That OF would probably be the worst in baseball, defensively. That is a disaster with the pitch to contact rotation we have. Buxton has to stay up, for his defense alone IMO, at least until Berrios and Meyer have gotten their feet under them in the mlb rotation.
  14. The 40 man roster shouldn't be an issue. There are several players who are completely replaceable.
  15. Mollie said he took grounders at 3b today to be ready for an emergency only. Rosario did the same at 2b.
  16. History says this is a 3 week injury minimum. Frankly, I don't understand what they are waiting for.
  17. None of those numbers tell me how many of those times the players spot in the lineup came back up with the game on the line. I've already said I don't care of Sano is pulled for a defensive replacement going into a save situation, the game is all but over 90 plus percent of the time with all but the worst closer in that situation.
  18. I didn't say 100 percent, I said near 100 percent. His spot came up in the 9th inning, and that's even after a double play in the 8th, nevermind that it was likely to go into extra innings the moment Sano hit that single in the 8th. My point was that is different than pulling a guy for a defensive replacement with a 2 or 3 run lead going into the 9th, at that point it likely won't matter.
  19. Sorry, I don't get too high after a win or too low after a loss, baseball has too many games for that. I'm more concerned with development right now. Speaking of which, shouldn't Kepler be getting at bats somewhere, anywhere right now? What are they doing with him? Makes zero sense.
  20. At least twice already this year he has.
  21. Unless what he did in the minors and last year was some kind of fluke, I don't know who could even compare behind Killabrew, of course, assuming no career altering injury. I guess the only possible guy would be Morneau, who was a great hitter, but I don't think he had near the pure power that Sano has.
  22. How many times did his spot come back up with the game on the line? Getting pulled for a defensive replacement up 2 or 3 in the 9th is one thing, it likely won't matter either way. When it's almost 100 percent that his spot is going to come back up, I'm not comfortable taking him out.
  23. Maybe not TD, but clearly Molitor. Sano has been taken out of EVERY game this year that has been close late. Just as he said he would. Like I said, we'll have to agree to disagree. I know Sano has struggled out of the gate this year but he has a game changing bat. He will easily go down as the 2nd best power hitter in the history of the team. And if we can convince him to stay after 6 years, probably the best we've ever had. IMO, guys like that, Sano, Cabrer, Stanton, there is no situation that you forfeit their bat late and close, none. But, fair enough those that don't agree.
  24. And I disagree. I don't think it's going to make a difference often enough to make up for all the lost high leverage AB's that he will miss. I think it's likely he scores on the grounder, just as Buxton did. So we can't even be sure it "worked" this time.
  25. I'll just have to agree to disagree with those that like the idea of taking Sano out every time it's late and close. I just think it's going to bite them more times than its going to work.
