    LOL. Fans have to be way better than this. Volpe is arguably a better player than Correa right now. Why would they trade Volpe for Correa unless they're betting heavily on a nebulous "veteran presence" premium? And you're here asking for Volpe AND a legit prospect? If the Yankees were trading for Correa, it'd not be to replace Volpe, it'd be to play 3rd and move Jazz to 2nd. So, if you want Oswald Pereza, I guess that'd be possible. But I repeat, there's not really any value coming back to the Twins in the event they trade Correa. He's a 2-3 WAR player on the wrong side of 30 that's owed $108 Million for the next 3.3 seasons of service.

    Trading away Correa isn't bring back anything much of value. The value of trading away Correa is getting a mediocre player on a bad contract off of your payroll. Mets aren't going to be very interested in adding Correa. Buxton on the other hand, they'd likely trade away 2 of their top 4 prospects, if not 3.

    Not if you don't think it's repeatable. I neither think he's as good a hitter as he was last season, nor as bad a hitter as he's been thus far this season. But I think a .230/.350/.450 hitter is obviously playable, but it really limits the value when he's a DH thrown into the field. I think he's fine. And a nice role player for a legitimate team, but I wouldn't shed a tear if he were traded away.

    Walker Jenkins has less than 100 PAs at AA and hasn't really impressed at that level yet. I am still very high on him, but don't expect him to be a savior in 1 year's time. As for Rodriguez...I just refuse to get hyped over a prospect with a K rate higher than Matt Wallner. In almost 200 PAs now, his K rate is over 35% at AAA. Which to me kind of suggests he's going to need even more time to get acclimated to major league pitching, making him a very frustrating player initially, even if he is a great defensive player which I continue not to be sold on. So, yeah, I don't expect Rodriguez to be much of a contributor next year. Fingers crossed for '27 though.

    Pitchers get injured. I'm betting on a team not having 100% health. Next year it might be Lopez again. Or it might be Duran. Or maybe Ryan again. A pitcher missing 3 months is hardly unexpected.

    And any expectation of them contributing (as a unit) in real ways before 2027 is foley. Keaschall, sure. But no one else. I'm a Rodriguez hater though so maybe he can prove me wrong.

    Asking all those rookies to contribute next year is a big ask. Which is why I'm looking to '27. Happy to give them all a chance, but will take time for them to get settled, let the cream rise to the top. And let the pretenders (Rodriguez) falter at be removed from the plans. All that pitching are Twins now. How is all that pitching doing this season? Are the Twins contenders with that abundance of great pitching? Surely, they must be close if it's enough to build on, as you claim.

    The return on this would be...what, maybe one legitimate prospect, 3 illegitimate AA players and a batch of non-prospect rookie leaguers? This isn't really doing anything. This team is not anywhere close to being a contender. I don't know why anyone thinks that next year is going to be different with this exact same team. I really, truly don't care if the top of the bullpen is great on a 76 win team. How the Twins allowed a player that had two contracts ripped up due to medical concerns to have a NTC is a mystery. Maybe that was a players association rule or something I'm not familiar, otherwise it was terrible addition to an already bad contract. His contract is thankfully not super long, but I would love to see the Twins be able to get out of it. Don't care if they don't receive a single prospect in exchange.

    This team is putrid. No one is untouchable. An attempt at being timid sellers in an effort to be an 85 win team in 2026 is a half measure. Play for 2027. If you don't think a player will be a major contributing player in 2027, try to ship them off. I keep hearing so much about this incredible pitching pipeline. You know what that does? That means Joe Ryan's last year of control (and $12-15M salary) aren't that valuable. Same goes for Ober, Duran, Jax, and Stewart. Any failure to shop them is malpractice. Jeffers is a free agent come '27, which means the Twins should shop him. Larnach would be last year of control and is IMHO already a non tender candidate. Shop him. The Blue Jays and Marlins shipped off 8 guys last trade deadline. That should be the expectation for this team. This core failed, so it's time to change direction. No half measures.

    Honestly, my anticipation for how much they sell off is the most excited I've been about this team since last year's trade deadline when their complete inaction led to full blown disinterest. I want to see a Marlins or Blue Jays like sell-off. 8 players shipped off, completely emptying the bullpen. Jax and Duran getting shipped off could 100% revitalize this organization. The returns last year for Tanner Scott and Trevor Rogers were incredible, and are what should be hoped for.

    This is fair, "complain" isn't probably the right word. He expressed terror. Which also doesn't really look great. This idea that moving to 2B for a long time SS is some radical shift is dumb. You ask 100 SS to go out and play 2B in the middle of the season and 95 of them will, no questions asked. He had plenty of opportunities to go out there before BP and work on footwork around the bag. Instead he talked to the media about how he didn't want to play 2B. All I'm saying is Royce Lewis lost me there. I, like most every Twins fan, was a huge fan of Royce leading into the 2024 season. I was so enamored I thought he was actually a future MVP. From appearances he's not a team player, and now sadly looks like he's not even really any good. The only reason the Twins shouldn't sell him off is because he's not worth anything any more.

    Doesn't sound like a team player after all. It's understandable to be annoyed. It's another thing to complain to the media about how you're annoyed and don't want to put in extra work to help the team.

    I don't know how forked tongue with severe malice and meanness is preferable to forked tongue with common decency. I do understand the argument that they're both lying through their teeth and one isn't any better than the other, but this weird pass that so many have given to, if not outright celebration of, the meanness of the current bully is directly correlated with the meanness we see in society.

    It's way less to do with online gambling, which I'm not a fan of, and more to do with the anonymity granted online. This culture shift is not just seen on Twitter or in the bleachers. Bullying is no longer publicly shamed, but instead championed and rewarded. Just look at the White House. Character is no longer an attribute that is valued.

    I'm a dummy and was slow to adopt the Mets, out of some stupid loyalty to the Twins, so I missed out on peak deGrom. Only really saw post-covid deGrom unfortunately, which while still great, was severely hampered by injury.

    Good list. I'll add some later quarter century names; Chris Sale, Gerrit Cole, and Jacob deGrom. We often don't appreciate our current stars until it's too late. Each of these three have, I'd argue, put together a better career than Johan, both in longevity and in peak.

    Santana is 24th in fWAR for 2000-2024 and his best season ranks 33rd. Greinke is 5th and 8th. Santana is barely even worth a mention. Which is why there was no Hall of Fame discussion around his career.

    Both agree and disagree. I think you're right that a moderately below average SS is nothing to get bent out of shape about if that player is able to provide at least average production at the plate. But also think too many people undervalue defense as a whole. Trevor Larnach and Matt Wallner aren't nearly as valuable as many seem to think due to the fact that they're simply terrible outfielders. At the end of the defensive spectrum and still really bad.

    I will continue to discuss topics brought up, respectfully. I didn't bring up politics. I'm responding to someone that is complaining that they don't have a safe space from the highly triggering 6 words "especially in our current political climate".

    Gotcha. You were so NOT triggered that you took 6 words and wrote another 150 about them. Who the hell are YOU to police other people's writing? Do you understand how entitled you sound by saying that? If you don't like someone's writing, don't read it. BTW, AOC is beloved by her constituents which I regretfully am not one. I'm guessing you're the one that needs to stop listening to MSM, ie Fox News, who had to pay nearly a billion dollars for lying to their audience.
