    You can say he's started more games, sure, but let's not pretend as if Jeffers isn't Option A. Jeffers has 100 more PAs for a reason. If the Twins had a legit DH option for longer stretches, Jeffers wouldn't be seeing so many starts there.

    Ok, guy saying a dude that just hit a walk-off homerun isn't MLB caliber. He's probably being played too much, but let's not pretend as if Jeffers doesn't have 100 more PAs than him. And you want to ignore 2023, but I assume you also want to ignore that Vazquez has been more valuable the last month as well, because that doesn't fit in with your hyperbolic narrative. Vazquez kinda sucks. There's no way around it. But almost every team's backup catcher kinda sucks. That's the job.

    Frankly, you don't know what you're talking about. He's not MLB starting caliber. But half the teams in the league would take him as a backup. These last couple seasons, he's ranked 38th amongst the 62 Catchers with at least 200 PAs. Are we paying him too much for his production? Yes. But be for real.

    The vibes are incredibly high in Queens right now. And their bullpen sucks. They're not selling from their weakness and signaling to their fans that they're quitting. Two bad weeks after the break, maybe. But Reed has been used heavily and already looks his old self again. Pass and not even worth discussing.

    Guy I kinda want is Lorenzen. Still disappointed we didn't sign him in the off-season and our complete lack of SP depth still terrifies me. SWR has been great but is also already approaching his previous high workload. What's our plan if he hits a wall? Or Paddack for that matter? Festa isn't ready and Varland doesn't have it. Boushley? Dobnak?

    Honestly shocked Thielbar isn't on there, but that's recency bias since he had -0.58 in June! Hard to remember he was pretty decent in May.

    Serious Question: Why aren't Canterino or Headrick on the 60 Day IL? Twins need to add Brooks to the 40 man if he's going to get called up, which I think is the appropriate move. But it is full right now since those two appear to be on there yet.

    I'm willing to wait it out a bit but I'm mostly there with you. After a rough series against the Mudhens, Matt had some good results against the Iowa Cubs. 29 PAs and only 4Ks.

    Yeah, hopefully he continues to excel and gets another promotion up to AA by August where he should be if he's going to continue his career. Best of luck to him.

    Mark Canha was a 1.2 WAR player last year for the Mets, with a 2024 team option at a fair price and the Mets paying his remaining salary and he returned a non-prospect AA starter. There really is no market for Margot, like at all. Tommy Pham was a 1.2 WAR player for the Mets at the deadline and with the Mets paying half his remaining salary he returned a 16 year old unknown SS in the Dominican league. There simply isn't a market for someone like Margot.

    Quality being the operative word here. Don't know that applies to Margot... We got Luplow off waivers last year and he wasn't any worse, on paper, than Margot right now. He ultimately didn't end up producing against lefties for us, but his career OPS against LHP was actually a full 60 points higher than Margot. Farmer, maybe...

    Before the weekend, he had a rolling 100 PA stretch where the K rate was 25% or so. The last 4 games have again cranked that rolling average back up to 30% unfortunately. I agree, I would like to see him show that another two weeks and then he can get another crack at it post-ASB.

    Any bullpen arm we'd get in exchange for Margot is no better than Jackson and we'd just be taking a flyer on talent and hoping our staff can straighten them out. Much like the Floro trade last year.

    You 100% did though. And it's ok. We all do from time to time. I'm just saying you're wrong to do so, while still agreeing with your conclusion. You started with the assumption and the cherry picked data confirmed your idea, even if you started with a faulty assumption that Louisville's staff is horrendous and his success against them should be discounted. What other reason do we have to assume you're removing his success against Louisville? He's like Bruce Wayne and his fear of Bats manifests itself as a strength, but only against that one team? That's a more reasonable theory than calling a league average staff horrendous if we're being honest...

    Which is a credit to Wallner, not a strike against him (although he knows plenty about having strikes against him amirite boys!).

    No one's trading for a corner outfielder with a sub 100 OPS+ that plays mediocre defense. Everyone, including the Twins, have someone in AAA that can produce at his level.

    You started with an assumption, and it wasn't true. Louisville isn't a horrendous staff. Simple as that.

    We'll agree to disagree then, but what's the harm in trying? A) If Jax actually wants to do it, allowing him to try helps build the relationship with the player B) If he succeeds, he could be Seth Lugo, a good #2 or #3 starter C) If he fails, we can throw him back into the bullpen and he's still Griffin Jax There's only upside and no visible downside to it unless you're concerned about injury. I don't know if there's any evidence of increased injury risk from someone going to bullpen to starting in the offseason.

    HRs and Ks against Toledo aren't any less or more important than Louisville. If you're parsing data to a granular level in order to support your conclusion, you're cherry picking. And when that starts with the idea that Louisville are some pitiful staff, which is why we should discount the results, it should at least be true. And it simply isn't. Again, I think your conclusion is valid, but let's not pretend as if HRs against Louisville don't matter.
