    Hendriks hasn't really proved that he can pitch in the Bigs, so I wouldn't chalk him up for a spot just yet. While Gibson might be in the #2 spot, he will be on an innings-count and won't pitch the entire year. Blackburn honestly should be released unless his most recent start was the beginning of something. Diamond I agree with, and they should have Deduno fighting for a spot with Hendriks and possibly Baker. And yes, the Twins should bring in at least one vet starter who can take the #1 spot.

    Mauer has had very few days off recently, and Gardy said that he was going to give him a day off on the road trip. The movement gives all the catchers that has been catching him trouble.

    Twins can just not seem to keep their pitchers healthy, both in the Minors and Majors.

    Lee is under contract through 2015; so if the Phils want to give him up, they will probably need to eat a solid bit of salary to do so.

    I think they will keep the teams that are in the playoff hunt mostly the same just so they can have the good players where they need to be.

    That really is the point, isn't it. Some of us don't like Terry Ryan (not me, I like him), but none of them can say anyone that is available that would be better than Ryan.

    This is more or less my opinion. Not only do they need at least one if not two above-average SP's somehow, it also wouldn't hurt the Twins to get a reliever or three that are more effective than the guys they currently have (guys like Gray and Maloney)

    Like the Qualls for McGehee trade between the Pirates and Yankees that just happened.

    Another move that was completed at the deadline was a deal between the Pirates and Yankees; the Yanks would send Chad Qualls to the Pirates for 3B Casey McGehee, probably as a replacement for A-Rod.

    Dempster is being traded for two Class A pitchers, names of which TBA.

    In the last few minutes before the trade deadline, the Texas Rangers have acquired Ryan Dempster from the Cubs, but it hasn't been announced for whom yet.

    According to MLBTR, the Twins and Rangers have been discussing a trade involving Jared Burton. I have to say that I don't like the sound of this, because the last time the Rangers picked up a former Twin, they got the good side of the deal (signing Nathan this offseason is what I is talking about.)

    Lew Ford is probably the most well-loved non-Twin out there right now. Here's to Lew; hope he finds success.

    I think the Nationals have had discussions about picking up a Carroll-esqe player.

    Except for Joe Mauer (who I believe has a full no-trade clause in his deal) and Jared Burton, I would have to agree with you. BUT, make sure that you get a good/great deal for anyone signed to long-term deals, because we really don't have anyone besides injured SP's hitting FA now so we don't actually have to move anyone.
