  1. With his second straight sterling performance yesterday, Samuel, proved he is a valuable resource. Interestingly, Deduno before Slama....hmmm With all the criticism of Deduno, do you really want him to fail? I am delighted that Twins have found a way to use him and this might be his optimum role. His stuff is just so good, remember this, when he is on, he can beat anybody, We need a few more of those, do we not?
  2. I say move Nolasco to pen, call up May. What you guys think?
  3. What Pino was this? Devoid of confidence, looking terrified? Trout, Pujols and Hamilton would terrify me too..but you gotta throw it
  4. isnt he fun to watch? Every night im glued to his performance, sure he can slump probably will, but I doubt he s going back down...
  5. btw..hows our Santana bet looking?
  6. ive often thought we need Joe in Center, evidently mgt doesnt think he has the legs for it. Willingham plays the ball well..but he doesnt get to some that better legs would. I like the idea, Mauer to outfield, especially center
  7. We see it over and over, a player gets hot, he hits everything, then he slumps a little and it just continues. Heres what you do, Arcia being the prime target for this, sit him down, two-three games, never let him get into a prolonged slump and let him go for 5+ games whiffing at everything. Parmalee when he first came back did the same thing..then the slump..not three hits yesterday, in Arcia and Parmalee we have the ideal duo to do this. Joe needs to sit as well..so Parms can go there when Arcia has been rested. Hitting takes a ton of concentration and you have to let people rest mentally.. Im amazed that Escobar continues to play and hit well...but he could use a rest too...same now with Willingham Try it we will like it! Hi
  8. All pitchers lay eggs. Yesterday was certainly one for Deduno. Have you been watching Gibson? 1 Great performance followed by 1 terrible? Nolasco? Which Nolasco will show up? Dedunos body of work until yesterday had been above average. Please dont buy into the pundits criticism of Deduno. That said, three more of what we saw yesterday and I will enlist your arma.
  9. What an ignorant comment. Remember Mr Hughes latest blunder? This was a bad start, maybe the worst I have seen him. Over his last four starts, two have been ok, (not a loss) And two have been spectacular. How does that stack up with the rest of the staff? Gibson yes was very good in his last outing but he has layed some eggs as well... The Three best starters on this team are Hughes, Deduno, and Gibson, So if you dont know baseball..by all means make these ignorant observations. Lastly, for the last two years once Deduno starts to go bad, he has gone into a funk...he didnt pitch much today but if this happens again they need to skip a start and try again.
  10. Assuming we get the Morales...we have seen, this lineup just became very formidable. One question is, when will Pinto play? With Suzuki slowing down, I guess Pinto will catch a little more..but wow...tell me who has a better lineup than us, with Morales in the middle! Also have you noticed Santana looking much better in CF? Im excited about the Minnesota Twins..(Does the State pay Gladden to say that all the time?) MINNESOTA...most of us know where the Twins hail from, but Gladden has to quailify it..repeatedly...

    Trade Darnell

How does that strike you? I am betting you go, that guy (me) is an idiot. Think about it, we are loaded at AAA with Pitching.. What do we need? We can get it for one of our great young pitchers, but what would you want? A cf? A ss? a catcher? Hmm..looks like we are pretty stocked..I guess I would take a Power Hitting First Baseman...thoughts?

    DedunoSpeak (tv)

I have constantly championed Samuel Deduno. Despite his success there are always the detractors, who listen to media instead of making valid observations, maybe they dont watch twins games. Yesterday was very different Deduno Speak, Dick and Bert were efffusive in their praise for him, hmmmmm..something came down from on high this was in sharp contrast to earlier comments..the players and Andy all gave him huge praise and Andy was right on about him pitching..to be effective and and as good as he was yesterday (do you know how close he was to a no hitter?) he has to be unchained,,do his thing and when he does..he is great..to quote Dozier..almost unhittable... So lets put the Deduno control is bad, erratic to rest..realize he is DIFFERENT..like a fastballing knuckleballer and in that difference we have a a special pitcher who I still maintain will be no worse than the 2nd best Twins Starter at the end of the year..Hats off to Gardy who played this one right!
  13. yeah i meant in the field..three balls that he normally catches or seemingly normally catches..went through...actually two balls..then a mishap on a throw from Santana..what a great player huh?
  14. yeah i meant in the field..three balls that he normally catches or seemingly normally catches..went through...actually two balls..then a mishap on a throw from Santana..what a great player huh?
  15. I know i expect too much of him, but its his fault...if he didn't make sparkling play after sparkling play, I wouldn't be surprised that nukes hit his way got by him..but he has been human a little lately. Problem: You cant afford to rest him, he is the twins best player right beside Suzuki and Escobar... You guys see fatigue?
  16. Pitch batting practice to him at only one pitch..fastball below his knees...he would have to prove he could hit that and WOULD hit that..before he plays again..how many? 100 a day or more..even if he has to have his own batting practice...I just cant believe with two strikes he can not tell that this pitch might be called a strike...also I would prep him that when he has two strikes SWING at the next pitch...not to say other twins arent guilty too..Colabello for one has struck out on multiple fbs down the middle..taking sometimes too.. Ok Bruno..you have the task..get to it!
  17. When I watch twins relievers, Tonkin is by far the weakest. He supposedly can throw in the high 90's so why is he trying to get people out with off speed stuff? BC..his heater with little movement is getting smashed! His wind up is so open, he doesn't fool anybody, the pitch comes out..and the hitters see it..clearly and teach him a lesson. His stuff..(fastball) allowed him to get by in lower minors..but Michael guess what? You aren't in Kansas anymore dude..just because you can throw hard.means little to major league hitters... Send him down, until he learns to fool hitters...
  18. Guess Hicks figures he can live on his minor league salary, huh?
  19. How do salaries work when a player is called up? I assume, Santana for example, is now making the MLB minimum 400K? If he is sent back down, does his salary revert to minor league? And how much is that for a player like Santana? thanks in advance
  20. Of course he might hit a wall, but in a year which we are not going to contend, AND Florimon cant reach Mendoza, its the smart thing to do, bring him up now...let him play...if he falters..of course he goes down,..but I like bringing him up very much...we had nothing to lose...
  21. tarheel..brave guy, Ill make the bet..IF you identify who will...take that bet? Also...Im from NC and a tarheelfan, where you from?
  22. My Take, Santanas speed electrifies, we know he had a great spring, I love the idea, he might be the shortstop of the future.... When anyone...makes the observations you do, your chance of being right...is strong, simply because of the scenario....most players DO NOT make it..but Santana has extraordinary tools..and I believe he has a GOOD chance of being the future Twins shortstop...so I put you in the AG group..you will criticize any player at any time...and triumph your (superior) logic
  23. Wow Gardy is no longer in love with the Mendoza line! Love todays lineup, Gardy is desperately trying to get some hitting in the lineup..absolutely love Santana being in, love Parmalee call up...love ANYBODY is spelling Kubel for a bit..(he will rebound) One thing concerning..is Pinto finally starting to hit again..but sitting..but Suzuki is Superman!..I know the cape will tear eventually..but loving seeing him fly!
  24. Escobar clearly took command of shortstop, will he continue to hit? Not at that rate for sure..but at least he gives you the possibility of making contact... Kris Johnson? No Way.. Wait for Jose.... CF? I really like Fuld but History suggests...He will falter...Trade a AA prospect for established CF? I certainly wouldnt put all my eggs in The Buxton Basket
  25. Do I understand this correctly? Eddie Rosario a top prospect for the MN Twins, smoked pot KNOWING..he could be tested for illegal substances? I wont engage in the merits or dangers of smoking MJ. However if you have the world in front of you and YOU HAVE TO SMOKE WEED...isn't is just a matter of time before your character catches up with you? I have to believe it is.... I think this shows long term weakness and once he comes back if he puts up great numbers..I urge the Twins to trade him, he is a ticking time bomb. And now we learn Rosario has two little kids and a wife to take care of...cut him mn now..this guy is reckless and not worth the distress!!
