    Why I Liked Bill Smith

Well certainly not like David Price, but how many Prices are there? You must be right though, I think the teams were thinking just as you stated
  2. AB Walker has torn up the FSL, even though its a pitchers league. Whats the hold up in getting him up to AA?

    Why I Liked Bill Smith

Hammer I agree..but Correia..im really surprised teams didnt want him but he did lay two eggs just before trading got hot...
  4. Liriano, Worley and now Diamond? Anderson misses on ALL of those and you are defending him?
  5. Bill would make a move...trading for Delmon was good on paper, that is until Bartlett was included...but I digress... Yeah..i know he traded Hardy who was hurt all year and hit 220 when he could play..Nshiokia was a Japanaese MVP...how could we have known? But what I liked about ole Bill..he would make a deal...Terry Ryan is like watching paint dry..if he dont screw ya..mean you havent traded with him... Here we are again...please..paint..crack somewhere!
  6. Scott Diamond beats the Red Wings tonight and was very good. If he resurfaces, and succeeds with his new team, Anderson must be fired this will solidify his critics and he should be fired with or without Gardys approval or if it causes losing Gardy too.then so be it..
  7. I really doubt that,if he could win a ring, he would be NOT be willing to motor...I think LF is a very good option for him if not center.....but we really cant afford to waste the easiest position on the field on a no pwoer, no rbi guy...what I expect to happen is for Minnesota to swallow hard eat the contract as Joe ages out...and you know what thats not the worst thing in the world, he would retire as one of the best if not the best Twin ever..our franchise could use a few more role models
  8. Jimbo, Thats exactly what Ive been trying to say. thanks
  9. The problem is position, you want your first baseman to be your power rbi guy...
  10. Let me ask you this, if he continues to hit 270 do you still want him to play?
  11. We did love you Joe...and now we can see why the Twins insisted on you catching. Frankly a non-power hitting first baseman at .270 just doesnt rock our world. And now once the hottest commodity in baseball. we couldnt trade you if we wanted to. So do we just keep you on th the bench and eat one of the richest contracts in baseball? uh..yeah...We dont have a choice, now do we?
  12. You can see it in their faces, when the Twins get behind..they quit... and I believe the reason is that ....The coaches are constantly harrasing them.. By the time a player reaches the major leagues they have had a ton of coaching, when they come up..let them be who they are and see if its good enough. Did the coaches ruin Aaron Hicks? Maybe..it sure looks like they "coached" him out of the major leagues. Too many of our players tear up AAA then flounder at Big League..level... LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! Are you constantly amazed that other teams...have very good young talent..and the twins dont seem too.. Coaches that have to fired at end of Season Gardenhire Brunansky Anderson Bruno biggest joke on staff
  13. agreed,,,that had to be the rationale
  14. Trading an established hitter for a position the Twins have in abundance? Pitiful
  15. After reading the weakest minor league report ever posted on TD.. Make sure you dont miss....Garver homers 3 times.. Here is the Link http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140721&content_id=85563240&fext=.jsp&vkey=recap&sid=t492
  16. Clearly Joe Mauer is not worth his contract as a non-catcher. I am sure when he signed that humongous contract, the Twins signed him as a catcher. I have clamored for years for Joe to play another position, i was wrong. He is worth way less as a position player. Now the question, is the contract valid when he refused to play the position he was signed for? If not, I am way willing to see Joe finish his playing days elsewhere.
  17. If Sam Deduno was given half the chance, that Kyle Gibson has, he would be substantially better. Gibson once again lays an egg....two more of these and something will have to be done with him. Yes at times Gibson has been brilliant....but he can not continue to lay eggs like he did last night...the rest of the season depends on how Gibson pitches, is he hurt?
  18. Gibson? You have to be kidding, Hughes struggles again today, I am talking starring pitching..Perkins not included....
  19. Hoping the twins wont try to trade him and we go for it this year... Without him, we dont contend, with him..possible..
  20. I totally get that, The players are capable of a major push but are the coaches? Brunasky is a joke as far as I am concerned, show me how he has helped this team. At the beginning of the year it was great we were walking like crazy, but any simpleton should know that the pitchers would start throwing strikes..duh! I think this team plays under too much pressure...they are deatly afraid of making a mistake.. Lets hope the coaches will loosen the reigns, the players are self motivated.. they KNOW if they dont perform what the consequences are..now Gardy be good enough..to let em go, put the fun in the game again!
  21. sorry that was confusing....I meant Hughes not the erratic Gibson, but maybe could be Correia?
  22. 1. Starting pitching MUCH better...(keep Correa) Our starting pitching has been much better, we have an ace now..Gibson is pretty much online..but do expect more short outings..but also long outings..he is getting better...Twins will move Nolasco..to pen..drop Swarzak and bring up May. Pino will be decent for remainder of year, Our Starting rotation will be Ok the rest of the way. 2. Collabello - has matured from his exit, look for him to perform above average the rest of the year. Mauer is hitting..he will be better...Escobar is just plain good..we knew he wasnt a 300 hitter but with rest will still hit, Parmalee is finally hitting...Arcia..Im very dubious about and want SOMEBODY who can hit, Ortiz? 3. NUNEZ - might be the most valuable player on the team, the thing is, this guy can HIT...Play him until he doesnt but until then..keep him in the lineup! 4. My favorite player (except Deduno) Santana will return soon and here we go with a good leadoff man.. If you check out on the Twins now, you will regret it..EVERYTHING is looking up!

    The Nolasco Solution

getting rid of him isnt going to happen, he needs to go to long relief..and drop Swarzak completely or send Swarzak to aaa to try to turn him into a starter, I think nolasco could be effe tive in long relief..look at it this way, he is much worse than expected, and Hughes is much better, really have to like that deal with correia..being suitable and Gibson who knows from start to start?
  24. huhguy

    The Nolasco Solution

    naw..lets wait for Pelfrey!
  25. Put Nolasco in pen, long relief, let Swarzak go or whatever he can be dealt for..box of donuts etc...call May up...
