  1. Those day night splits may be as much due to the opponent and the short turnaround as the lighting, as you indicated. My general impressions are that the team looks 'tired' on getaway days.. which are usually days.. no late night tv for the guys if they get a 3 pm start the next day.
  2. Twins batters: Don't hit the ball to Varsho. We already used up all our good juju against him for the season. 😊
  3. Didn't take long to get help, I'm glad they made the move. Larnach back up, Correa to IL eligible to return during the Colorado series.
  4. Right now the Twins have a depleted bench. If catching Houston is a possibility I'd love to replenish it with Larnach but I have a feeling Joey G is going to get the call. And Brock Stewart looks ready as ever.
  5. Iwl was "Keuchel is not our BP solution" and I thought "batting practice solution"!
  6. At least the pitching and hitting stunk simultaneously. Maybe this shows how you need sparkplugs like Solano and Castro in the lineup to get the big bat engine greased. Correa needs to sit at least until they get home. (But hope not much past that.)
  7. Again we have depth over top shelf pour. Obviously Sonny and Pablo 1-2 probably in that order (and hope Sonny doesn't have that one inning to taint the whole series) 3 could be Kenta, or Ryan.. maybe a stretch to Paddack or Varland.. even a further stretch to Bailey Ober or Keuchel. Let's how we don't have to stretch that far. Seven startees and two stars.
  8. Thanks Royals. It won't be long now.
  9. You make it sound like Julien is susceptible to umpires with wide (not tall) strike zones. It would be interesting to match these stats with specific umpires as well as pitchers to see what conclusions there are. Earlier this year it was mentioned that the minor league callups had a great perception of the strike zone ostensibly because they knew they could appeal a given pitch. Obviously not an option at Target Field .
  10. Seems like Julien pulls a Mitch McConnell and freezes at the most inopportune times.
  11. The Twins recipe for success lately outside Giolito has been to wait out the opposing starter and then attack the bullpen. Doesn't work against the Rays whose bullpen is foolproof.. no runs given up in 24 innings and counting. Hope they can hit Littell and get a big lead Tuesday.
  12. The unexpected but wonderful choice for Game 4.. is Chris Paddack.
  13. Depth vs nine can't miss guys. Sooner or later one will miss. I think we are well equipped to handle that. It's up to Rocco to recognize the who and when.
  14. So Dr says Gallo has been playing hurt.
  15. Well it's official. Gallo onto the IL and Kiriloff up.
  16. Make sure there are only two outs in playoff games!
  17. It's going to be (barring IL necessity for someone) Luplow or maybe Stevenson. Kirilloff will be here soon and Michael A Taylor not far behind.
  18. I was also surprised the Cleveland starter Williams came back. Maybe they played toss under the stands.
  19. Seems the author wasn't happy he started off the season in AAA and then wasn't happy he got sent back down after being effective in August. There were valid reasons for both decisions. I hope we see him in some capacity toward the end of September.
  20. Probably an hour plus rain delay made it inevitable. I was surprised he came back out for the 4th.
  21. The Polanco Solano show needs to be a part of the leadoff order in 2024. No question they can set the table and sometimes clear it. Health issues are always a specter but a batting order in 24 of.. 1b Solano/Kirilloff 2b Polanco/Julien 3b Lewis/Polanco LF Wallner SS Correa DH Julien/Kirilloff/Buxton/Solano CF Martin/Buxton/Taylor RF Kepler/Martin C Jeffers/Vazquez is nothing to sneeze at. I'd keep Willi Castro around and maybe even Jordan Luplow until Emmanuel Rodriguez or Brooks Lee is ready.
