  1. Stroman scares the crap out of me the same way Dylan Bundy used to. Seriously the more I think about it doing whatever we can to get Eduardo Rodriguez from probably our best competition in 2024 makes so much sense.
  2. If you're into ratings and considered Pablo a 1A and Sonny a 1B, if Paddack could perform at a 2A level (with Ryan, Maeda, Ober/Varland) that would be a rotation only a tad less impressive than this year's. If Ryan or Varland stes up, maybe just as good. If Pablo or Maeda drops off, a bit less. Add a quality free agent (an Ed. Rodriguez from Detroit type) and Paddack is your three.. that's good stuff there!
  3. Truly a way must be found to keep a couple glue guys like Farmer.
  4. "Trust the Process" has been the team's unofficial mantra in 2023. It can also be applied to the long term, assuming the front office continues to "supply the process".
  5. I would just love for the Twins to Make a serious play for Eduardo Rodriguez, who likely won't be a Tiger next year.
  6. This team made me remember just how much the mid 80s teams made me cringe and the late 80s made me cheer. Once again it's not only acceptable to be a Twins fan but now we just need to find room on the bandwagon! Seriously not only did the team bring optimism and happiness but a good chunk of it will be back next year and the next. I'm sorry it all ended but can't wait for the off-season to see what's coming! (Really hope there's room for the role players we came to know and love like Farmer, Taylor, deLeon, Solano.) Is a Pablo/Ryan/Paddack/EdwinJackson or Corbin Burnes/Ober rotation too much to ask for? (I have a feeling Tigers fans are about three years behind us on this trajectory.)
  7. Is it really a good time for a Buxton sighting? Break glass in case of emergency. I guess this counts.
  8. Kirilloff and Wallner are not in the starting lineup.
  9. This is who we are. You'd certainly hope for better from AK and Waller, but sitting them today won't help come 2024 playoffs. The Orioles buzz is that they were too inexperienced..
  10. Additional day of rest. Of course if Maeda or Ryan comes in to relieve Ober things change. Paddack would be a good change of pace from Ober if Rocco was feeling feisty.
  11. I like this and the failure to announce Game 2 starter means it's dependent upon our success with game 1. It could be Pablo if we lose.. but it could be Maeda if we win.
  12. ''All of the above". I'm hoping tostitos and unsweet iced tea guide me though this on my end..
  13. These are the kind of analyses I love to pore over. You know I'll be scouring the box scores on Monday.
  14. Bidding a fond farewell to a divisional foe.. haven't seen a Francona one yet..
  15. I saw that.. I certainly hope not. (Hey maybe the Marlins need him for an inning Monday.. what a shitshow that situation is..)
  16. There is nothing fun about the prospect of coming out of the clubhouse on Tuesday afternoon and seeing Phil Cuzzi behind the plate. If You're the Twins, that prospect is even worse than seeing CB Bucknor, Laz Diaz, or Angel Hernandez. Cuzzi is Khan to Captain Kirk Baldelli.
  17. Day getaway game, you could predict silent bats as certain as the sunrise.
  18. Spot on. I have wondered if there's something about Sonny's pace or kismet that lulls the team to sleep when the Twins batters step to the plate. Is that even possible? Pablo gets a ton of run support, does he do something on the mound outside of pitching well that fires up the team? Just wondering.. there 'shouldn't' be a correlation, but..
  19. I'd say Royce Lewis availability will dictate a lot of how the roster looks, even more than Correa's (pretty sure he'll be ready.) The supporting cast looks (Farmer, Castro, Stevenson, Solano) like it will be making or breaking this team again, which isn't a horrible thing considering their success so far. I expect one of the rookies (Wallner, Julien, Kirilloff, Jeffers) to shine and one of the vets (Vasquez, Kepler, Polanco, Correa, Buxton) to tank. Best guess, Kirilloff comes up big and Buxton doesn't. But no Royce Lewis adds so much more pressure.. Also watch out for the trademark One Big Inning from potential game one starter Sonny Gray. If we can spot it and nip it in the bud (typically a borderline ball strike call is involved) we can mitigate. A disastrous game one that unexpectedly (avoidably) spirals out of control would be a deal breaker.. As Pablo showed last night those innings can show up at any time. And subbing in Stewart or Varland for a scuffling Duran needs to be a possibility..
