  1. The telecast was talking about Bader. My speculation was that it was down to someone reaching base.
  2. Ryan actually efficient if you don't count the 1st inning. Worst part is that this is probably his last inning so I hope the bullpen is ready.
  3. If Fitz does come up, that does require a 40-man move. Maybe Tonkin or Wallner gets shifted to the 60-day IL. Potentially, Gasper ends up getting DFA'd with the understanding he would re-sign a minor league contract. A 40-man move would also have to be made if McCusker was brought up to the Twins as well.
  4. Maybe this also gives CC a chance to rehab his other ailments depending on how serious the concussion is. Hopefully, it's just a couple days even though he'll have to spend the entire 7-day IL stint.
  5. Raya is schedule to pitch tomorrow in Iowa. I think we can leave him there for now. Matthews is scheduled for Friday. Festa for Saturday. Maybe possible to push Lopez back a day (Saturday to Sunday) since they have no starter currently listed for Sunday and bring up Festa for Saturday. I believe you are still stuck with SWR and his next scheduled start next Monday against Cleveland. A couple other things to consider. Any pitchers sent down must stay in AAA for 15 days unless brought back up because of injury. Also, I am unfamiliar with what options many of these relievers have left and most of them are too good to just DFA and pray no one else picks them up.
  6. Rent the Clemens family a home in Chanhassen and keep him in the lineup the rest of the year?
  7. You would have to wonder if Coulombe or Duran are available in an emergency since each of them only used 11 pitches.
  8. Ok. I was wrong. I thought I heard on the broadcast that Topa was warmed up.
  9. Topa for the 8th. Hmmmm. Not going to question it now as the Baldelli/Tingler bullpen has been rolling boxcars today.
  10. Great 2 innings by Alcala! Now let’s hope there is still life left in the bats.
  11. Worst part Sim has to stay in since the Twins don’t have a true inning eater bullpen arm.
  12. I guess I look at it from the standpoint that he has played every day since he's come back. He doesn't seem to be running at 100% and his hitting isn't timed up yet. Yet with so much pressure to produce when he was put back into the lineup, it might be getting to him even though he doesn't show it. I think he wants to be the guy you can put the team on his shoulders on and he still has to build back up to that. So a day off here or there with Keirsey getting some playing time shouldn't be a surprise.
  13. I know that Keirsey is the defensive replacement, but I would almost leave him in the lineup at the point the way that Lewis is hitting.
  14. Now the question of how Rocco will manage the bullpen. Does he go Jax/Duran to at least guarantee 1 win today? Or does he split Jax and Duran and who comes on in the 8th?
  15. May get your wish if France goes on the IL. I doubt he will at this point, but you never know.
  16. I think something that is forgotten has been most of these younger players like Larnach (you could add Lewis, Julien, and Miranda to this group) were drafted and developed during the heavy usage of the infield shift. These players have been developed from the minors about launch angle and pulling the ball over the shifted infield and developing to analytics instead of baseball situations. I sometimes find it difficult on the player to expect them to change 5-8 years of development in under a year because the rules have now changed and now the philosophy doesn't work anymore. Many of us even in our own jobs take up to a year to be fully productive when we switch jobs or careers. The best way to maybe compare this to real life is to compare these players to an individual that is taking online courses after working all day to better their skills or change jobs/careers. These players need to change how they hit in a post-shift era so this will take time and patience. Something most of us fans (including me!) do not have.
  17. I believe the team would prefer a plane ride, but however they get there as long as they show up is fine.
  18. All the punching bags struck back today. Kiersey, Clemens, Lewis all produced timely hits. Great win and now off to Baltimore!
  19. This entire crew has been terrible this weekend.
  20. Gotta finish this. Royals and Tigers both just lost. They get a chance to keep gaining.
  21. Hopefully it doesn't come to this, but the Giants just put their DH in center so they do not have a DH when that spot comes up again.
  22. This is why you need to score runs when you have the chance. The bullpen can't be stellar forever and will eventually lay a clunker.
  23. Provus was wrong. There was no contact play. The bases were loaded so when the ball is put on the ground Jeffers has to come home.
