  1. I am hoping that if/when they decide to send Lewis down, they will also instruct him to pick up a 1B glove and take some reps over there. Provided Culpepper sticks, that will likely be his one spot to stay on the team and maybe develop a little more trade value as he can play multiple positions if the Twins do end up writing him off.
  2. I know it has been tough with the bats this weekend. The bullpen has done their job this weekend. The starters have done their job. Coming into this series, I have expected the Brewers to bang balls off the Target Field walls like they did to us last season. The pitching has kept the Brewers in check for the most part. I can be disappointed in the results, but we have been in every game, and I'll take that as a small victory.
  3. You're right. They still did lose the next six games, but like you, I'm willing to take a chance it may work this time!
  4. Heard a story from Gladden on the radio earlier this week about, when the entire team was in a slump, they gathered all the bats together in the dugout, threw them in the dumpster, and lit them on fire. Not sure it worked, but I would say it's worth a try right about now.
  5. Cory talked about it with Molly. Molly said that it would be a tough play for the runner as you don't know if the ball is going to fall or not. Molitor may not be as critical about plays as Trevor Plouffe when he is on color, but he will point out things that he sees. The very next inning he said that Larnach should have called off Lee on the fly ball since Larnach's momentum would have carried him in with Chourio on 3rd.
  6. Ober has now thrown the last two complete games, both with 89 pitches in a game. May have to think about calling him the RH version of Jamie Moyer. Great to see another day with zeroes from the bullpen chart! Fun fact not related to today's game: Cal Raleigh finally breaks his 0-36 hitless streak tonight. His last hit - a homerun off of Andrew Morris.
  7. Looking at Pablo in the dugout, he almost looked happier than Ober about his accomplishment.
  8. Complete game shutout! Guess what? 89 pitches. Matches his last complete game!
  9. Now we get to see if Shelton and the staff learn the lessons from Rocco's perils. Last time we saw Ober in this situation, he was dealing against the Royals in a must win game in September 2024. Rocco takes him out after 83 pitches because he has to get to that bullpen. Bullpen coughs up 4 runs in the 8th and we lose the game.
  10. I would say that Bell at least put it in play and it was hit up the middle. Got to look at the positives.
  11. Last complete game thrown by a Twin was by Ober. 89 pitches in 2024 in Oakland.
  12. Do you think we can trade Bell to the LG Twins in Korea? Maybe he can find his K pop groove there?
  13. The Twins finally got Perez out of his groove! Great job by the Twins!
  14. Getting dangerous. Perez is in a groove. Who wants to be the sacrifice and try to bunt on base?
  15. Solid walk by Lewis. I think having Molitor in the booth definitely helps Morneau stay on topic and not drone on during the game.
  16. Just as impressive is that Skenes has struck out every Rockies hitter at least once.
  17. Could turn into the largest case of animal cruelty in Minnesota history. I hope for the best game! I was listening to the Skor North Twins Show yesterday and one of the pundits said that they ring a doorbell during the game. That just sounds mildly mean to the poor puppers.
  18. I'm reasonably sure I will be tired of listening to John Denver by the end of the weekend.
  19. So far two of the four players commenters are asking to fire into the sun have produced today. Hopefully a sign of things to come!
  20. Remember, we want these young guys to play. Sometimes young guys make mistakes. Hopefully they learn from them. I'll take Martin in the lineup every day, even if he makes a mistake or two.
