  1. Festa to the bullpen is a good take. If Lopez and Ryan are not on the roster, then these guys (Pohlads/FO) are not serious about competing.
  2. All about that roster. Kinley seems like a good fit and won’t break the bank.
  3. Love the LaTroy signing for the bullpen coach. Who’s going to be in his bullpen. Right now it is just Sands and Fundy. I’m much more concerned with the roster construction that I am about the Shelton hiring.
  4. Gleeman: Only four players have won a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger in a Twins uniform: Byron Buxton Kirby Puckett Joe Mauer Chuck Knoblauch
  5. I don’t think the Twins will be shopping in the top 50 free agents aisle. Probably find them over in the top 75 to 100 aisle.
  6. per Gleeman: Twins dropped the following players from the 40-man roster in the first round of offseason housecleaning: - Jose Miranda - Thomas Hatch - Michael Tonkin - Anthony Misiewicz - Genesis Cabrera - Cody Laweryson Laweryson was claimed off waivers. Everyone else is now a free agent.
  7. He is raking in LIDOM Sarah Langs: Miguel Sano now has SEVEN home runs this season in LIDOM In 13 games That’s the most by any player in his LIDOM team’s first 13 games of a season since at least 2006
  8. How about Rowson as the bench coach?
  9. Caratini would be my pick of the three listed here. I feel like the FO will be shopping in the McCann aisle.
  10. I hate the premise of this but with no shared plans we are left to fill in the blanks. I’d like to think they will answer some payroll questions tomorrow at the Shelton presser but they probably won’t.
  11. I voted for 111 to 120 but I feel like that’s being optimistic. Everything is setting up like the Pohlads are gonna ride this thing through the new CBA and then try to sell again. I like the end result there, but they aren’t going to spend money in the next two years.
  12. Well, the Twins do still need a 1B. Not sure about the payroll, Falvey still had to talk to the Pohlads last time he was asked about it. Maybe we’ll find out if he has at the Shelton presser on Tuesday?
  13. What is the roster going to look like? If the Twins have a Pirates-like payroll they’ll continue to have Pirates-like results.
  14. Big decision here, hopefully he can stabilize the clubhouse and get everybody moving in the same direction. Even bigger decision upcoming, what will Shelton’s roster look like?
  15. Falvey doesn’t want to be challenged. Go with the comfortable hire. Hopefully I’m wrong but not super jazzed by this hire.
  16. You left out one of the Twins guaranteed contracts. The ghost of Correa is getting $10mil - third highest on the team as of now.
  17. Twins sucked at defense. I think they need to decide between Wallner and Larnach. Only one of these guys can be the DH.
  18. Flaherty and Servais at least seem different than Rocco. Who is most likely to provide a different voice?
  19. I wish they would have given Fedko a look at the end of 2025. Sign Polo for 2yrs/$14m and he can play 1B and DH.
  20. Suggestion number 2 is a must. Stop swinging at crap; his bat-to-ball skills have become a liability in the MLB. Just because you can get your bat to the ball doesn’t mean you always should. Miranda was similar in this way. Can he go to an agility camp? Lee will never be a speedster, but if he can increase his range, even a foot in either direction, he becomes a much better defender. His slow footedness also turns many of his should be doubles into singles.
  21. la Velle Neal 3 in the Strib: Add former Mariners manager Scott Servais to the list of candidates expected to interview for Twins manager, according to @leneal3.bsky.social. Other candidates include Nick Punto, James Rowson, Derek Shelton, Ramón Vázquez and Vance Wilson. https://www.startribune.com/twins-managerial-search-expands-to-include-vance-wilson-scott-servais/601497809
  22. List from a Matthew Leach post today: Actual known candidates for the Twins manager job at this point (this is just alphabetical order btw): Nick Punto James Rowson Derek Shelton Ramón Vázquez Vance Wilson
