  1. I think it's a combo of needing to see what they have in Parmelee and Arcia having a couple games in a row with some pretty bad ABs. I think they have a couple of guys in the minors that deserve a shot in the majors if Parmelee can't hack it, so I think that is the primary motivation. Not sure if they are thinking of bring Buxton up or Colabello or maybe Thomas. They could play Colabello at 1st if his defense is OK and maybe put Morneau at DH. Buxton probably isn't ready for another year anyway. Thomas seems most like to get the call...I think.
  2. I was thinking more from the coaching end, which has been partially done.
  3. If Florimon had enough ABs to qualify he'd be top 3 in the AL, pretty impressive.
  4. I think it's just getting to the point where a total gutting of the team is probably going to be needed to turn it around. I don't think Gardy or Anderson is really the problem but I think the organization needs a "reset" button hit.
  5. Right now I'd take being the Royals...
  6. True, not so bad when you look at it that way. I still have a good feeling about May though, so all is not lost.
  7. late to this thread but I'm terribly disappointed with Worley. I thought he had a chance to get a new start and that he had the stuff to be a good solid mid rotation guy. Really makes that trade look bad now but we will see.
  8. Lets just hope we don't all go on binges because we are confused about this feeling.
  9. Yeah, well get Baltimore's 4th and 5th starter to start the series, then the middle of the KC rotation. So, getting out of the Tigers series with 2 wins looks good right now.
  10. I'm not ready to change predictins based on 3 games but I like what I've seen of this team so far. Surprisingly, three good pefermances from the starters and none of them were Diamond. The Twins exposed the Tigers BP issues some as well. All-in-all, can't complain. Would liked to see more out of Hicks but he had a nice final AB.
  11. Gotta like the way the Twins have played the first two games. Pitching has been solid, hitting not so much but hard to look good VS Verlander.
  12. I get the games on my XM Radio app. 96.3 works as well.
  13. Correia looking solid so far.
  14. So you're saying stick to twitter?
  15. I like Tim Wood better than Burnett so I don't have an issue with the move. Granted, Wood is 30 years old but for this year I think he'll help the team more than Burnett would.
  16. I know that Diamond will be back early on but will he be full go, no rust? That's the question.
  17. Hmmm... Not really sure what I think of this roster. I think they will be about the same at the plate this year, maybe slightly better. It depends on Hicks and Morneau on whether or not there is a modest improvement or a step back in offensive production. I think the ups and downs of the rest of the team will balance out. Going into spring trainig I thought that the rotation was better than what we saw most of the season last year but now I'm not sure of that. I still have hope that Worely and Diamond will be solid, but Correia and Pelfry are very worriesome. I like what I saw from Hendriks for the most part. As for .500, I would be very surprised if they are near .500 early in the season. Diamond will be out for a bit and coming back without spring training, Plefry is still working his way back and there are a lot of young guys on the roster.
  18. Ahh..missed that part but that's what I figured would happen given their current roster.
  19. Yup, this doesn't mean Alex will be starting in the majors with the Jays. Chances are he'll go to AAA to start the season.
  20. This reminds me I should blog more. I just feel like I'm not sure if I have anything of value to write about (In other people's eyes) or that anyone else will read it. Maybe I should just write for the fun of getting my thoughts organized.
  21. I think in the end, if he gets back to the majors at all, his real value will be as a 7th inning guy out of the bullpen. History says he won't hold up to a ton of innings.
  22. Well, good luck Alex. I think he was making progress coming into ST but it ended badly. Hopefully things work out with the Jays.
  23. That makes more sense because you just don't get anything of value in a player for a guy like Burnett.
  24. Not sure what they got for him but not like you gave up a lot either.
