  1. Agree with much of what’s been stated. Everything about this team and its ownership situation this year looks/feels like an 80-85 win, treading water type of season. We should be in the veteran-selling, acquiring prospects mode at the deadline.
  2. Yeah, SWR has regressed. Epically. I’ve seen virtually nothing this year that tells me he’s our 4th or 5th best SP now. Topa? He is what he is. Alcala? Why? You can’t convince me that there isn’t someone in our minor league system deserving of a shot. Real serious teams don’t lock up a roster spot with guys like Alcala.
  3. I hope Buxton continues the trend of talking walks as opposed to wild swings at pitcher’s pitches. He’s the closest thing the Twins have to a true disrupter on the base paths. It’s always frustrated me that the home run or strikeout only approach he seems to normally bring to the plate pretty much negates a big part of his skill set that can help a team that is otherwise plodding, station to station.
  4. Such is life for an 80-85 win team. Hope to beat up on the bad teams, Lose most series to the best teams. Try to split with the other .500 teams. As much as I try to see the upside in every player, the truth is this is a .500-ish team with on paper slightly above average pitching and horribly inconsistent hitting, with enough shakiness on defense to never allow you to be comfortable. In previous years that was good enough for the AL Central. Not so much anymore. It’s just how this year is going to be.
  5. In case anyone was wondering Correa is 38th all time in Twins GIDP. Feels like he’d be higher.
  6. Strike zone all of a sudden unpredictable.
  7. Absolutely brutal called 3rd strike. I don’t like to dwell on umpiring but that was huge blown call.
  8. I dislike this pattern of Twins scoring early and then going to sleep for innings on end.
  9. Yeah even the bottom of the order guys are getting good swings against Ober tonight.
  10. This qualifies as Royce’s best game in a while I think.
  11. His lower body is out of sync with his swing. Maybe injury related. It’s not going fix itself.
  12. Both Butler and Wilson have had good at bats this series. Until Jax.
  13. Was she holding a wine glass out there on the berm?
  14. You won’t find a bigger Lewis fan than me. I’m not put off by his personality; he seems pretty authentic. Having myself rehabbed an ACL replacement, I can’t imagine the work he’s put it to go through it twice and still be functional as a MLB player. All that said, if he keeps floundering I hope the team gets him what he needs as far as coaching, whether at the MLB or MiLB level.
  15. Kudos to the FO for Bader and France. Pretty important parts of this roster.
