  1. That will feel good when it quits hurting.
  2. Gallo, Correa and Buxton all injured but trying to play through it certainly would explain their respective slumps. I sure hope the Twins get hitting on all cylinders and put this division in the rear view mirror. With their pitching they can walk away with the Central if they can just play to their potential. A.J. Perzinski is very good as an color guy, I found it embarassing that some Twins fans booed him when he wore a different uniform. It was not his idea to leave Minnesota.
  3. I do believe that the way Varland is pitching tonight is called "dealing".
  4. It's obvious that Buxton is still having knee problems. He will not be manning center field anytime soon. After last nights Angels game where he ran full speed twice he was lifted in the sixth inning with leg stiffness. I'd rather see him DH than not see him play at all. Taylor is fine in center, Celestino looks like a 'maybe' for next year or perhaps Buxton can be in center next year. I know I should be used to disappointment but damn, Buxton has the talent to be compared to Willie Mays, why can't us Minnesota Twins fans have our cake and eat it too?
  5. late night west coast games has everybody rather quiet. I'm liking Varland on the mound the more I watch him.
  6. Public service announcement time: If there is a way to get the Twins Radio broadcast from today get it. I was listening to the game on the radio and in the Twins half of the third Marney Gellnor was a guest. It was by far the funniest and best half inning I have ever listened to. I had no idea she was that funny and witty. You will thank me later.
  7. That Duran guy has some pretty nasty stuff!!!
  8. Thank you for that reference. I was wondering if I was the only one old enough on this site to remember and think of Tony Conigliaro.
  9. It's easy to forget that the Twins are currently in first place in the division. They are predicted to be an 80-85 win team, which is reflective of their current record. I think we all know if the hitters were hitting like predicted the Twins would have 10 more wins and would be kicking ass in the American League. The lack of hitting, the little league fielding plays and mental errors are frustrating but these players are in their 20's, a long ways from being considered wise. It's easier to be negative than positive after an error and I know I have some 'hope springs eternal' hangover frustration about this team. Here's to hoping they find their way out of the funk starting tonight.
  10. tough crowd on this thread. O.P. has 30 posts in 7 years. He might not be so chatty after the lashes he has received on this thread.
  11. Twins deserved to lose this game. Ryan didn't but everyone else deserves to lose it.
  12. Colome with the White Sox is nice, any chance we can sneak Pagan onto the Guardians staff?
  13. With the price of eggs Joe might be looking for a part time job.
  14. Things about to get interesting. Not in a good way.
  15. ok, who tweeted Brehmer to straighten out his pocket fisherman gaffe?
  16. Anyone else remember when Harmon was teamed up with John Rooney for TV broadcasts? Only lasted one year. Mid 80's 9th inning, Twins leading. Opponent makes first out of the inning. Rooney: There's the all important first out of the inning. Harmon, do you argee that the first out is the most important out of the inning? Harmon: no, I think the third out is the most important out of the inning. Rooney: then why do they say the first out is the most important out of the inning? Harmon: I have no idea. I lost lots of games with one out in the ninth inning. Followed by a long dead air silence. You could tell they did not get along.
  17. nope, respectfully typed. It was a sad day when Harmon was jettisoned to KC to finish out his career.
  18. you must be getting social security checks and remember when Jim Kaat was a Twins pitcher.
  19. Buxton was 33 to 1 for league MVP in Vegas this spring.
  20. this Buxton as DH is kinda working out........
  21. I kinda like the three run homer!
  22. are you using your Texas Instrument calculator today?
