  1. In order to be an effective starter in the major league, May really needs to pitch deep in the game and keeps pitch count low.
  2. May should be a long reliever for a close game or 7th/8th inning man. Boyer has failed to perform lately and he could not strike people out at will, May has a power arm, he would be a lot more effective than any of the guys there except Perkins. I believe this would not be a long term move if May could perform well. Pelfrey and Milone are not strikeout pitchers. Contact pitchers might struggle especially when there are some inherited runners on. Since bullpen has been struggling as a group, it might be a better idea to insert a power pitcher there FOR THE TEAM!
  3. May is a starter? A five or six inning starter?
  4. Could you please tell me what supports your claim that May has been better than Pelfrey lately? Performance is what matters the most. Pelfrey is still the best starter on this team. Although Milone is catching up lately.
  5. Brewers: 10 RUNS 9 HITS 1 WALK so far
  6. This is my solution to make bullpen competitive. Since Santana is coming back soon, it might be a good idea to move May to the bullpen temporarily since he could strike guys out at will. Meyer is doing great as a reliever in Rochester, he could be brought up to help the bullpen. Trade Boyer when his ERA still looks decent for a lefty reliever. DFA Duensing. Option Thompson and Tonkin to the minor. Problem solved.
  7. This bullpen is a mess now. No effective lefty other than the closer, righties are shaky.
  8. Right now Dozier and Plouffe are the only two contributing offensively.
  9. In terms of effectiveness, Stauffer was slightly better than Duensing all season, neck to neck with Thompson lately.
  10. What fine work has Gardy done? I am really curious about that. The Twins won 2 championships in 1987 and 1991 under TK. That's the only fine work I could remember.
  11. 3 straight years of 30 games under .500 or over.
  12. The Twins could add a power hitter with a good avg and one or two starters. If they don't bring Morneau back, they need someone to replace him in the lineup. Correia, Albers, Deduno (if he's healthy) should be in the rotation. They could sign Pelfrey for another one year deal. That would leave one vacant spot in the rotation.
  13. I believe the Twins need a manager who could take the team to the next level. We all know it's not Gardenhire.
  14. Slowey has been doing fairly well with the lowly Marlins this season. I think he has more talent than you thought.
  15. I think Colabello is one of the major contributors not PJ Walters.
  16. It should have happened earlier though.
  17. Diamond should be sent down to AAA. Albers should be called up. Ibarra should take Duensing's spot in the bullpen. Byebye Duensing.
  18. Ibarra is ready and he is a lefty, Tonkin and Ibarra are both knocking on the door, Duensing should be easily replaced.
  19. Exactly. Vargas should be promoted along with Sano and Rosario. Morales should not be promoted though and he should be demoted now.
  20. Albers has not had a chance to pitch in the ML. Don't write him off just yet. Let's be fair. Walters and Hendriks were given a few chances already. They both failed to succeed.
  21. Albers earned the next callup. Hendriks has not shown much this season. Parmelee is hitting .200 in AAA. Colabello should stay in major league for the rest of the season. Arcia should be called up in Sept if not earlier. Tonkin or Ibarra should take Duensing's bullpen spot.
  22. Please no more Hendriks.
  23. Swarzak is not a starter, he is a reliever.
  24. part of the blame also falls on Twins’ management for not giving Gardenhire enough flexibility to place players in different spots in the order to play effective station-to-station baseball? this statement makes no sense to me. I believe Gardenhire has the most flexibility to place players in different spots in the batting order in all the baseball teams.
