I think after last night's game, the Twins might be able to trade Plouffe for Vogt straight up, if not, might just have to give up Meyer or Danny Santana along with Plouffe.
I would keep Kepler, Gonsalves, Polanco and Hu, might give up Plouffe, Levi Michaels, Danny Santana and ABW (or Arcia) and Meyer. Try the best to keep pitching.
I wonder why everybody wants to trade Escobar. Is Santana a fixture now? I would keep Escobar at SS. He is the best in the system. I like his glove. He is still young and inexpensive.
Am I missing something here? Why do we trade for a SS when we already have a decent, young and inexpensive one? We all know Nunez is not the answer. Bullpen issues need to be addressed. It's just not worth depleting the talent in the position in need for it
Well I value defense and clutchness a lot. I think Escobar is still young. He is defensively sound. He has pop in his bat. He has decent speed. He often comes through in a clutch situation. When he's hot he could carry the team. He is a streaky hitter. He is definitely a positive force on this team.
Although Escobar's glove isn't exactly excellent, it's the best in the system at this position. He could play multiple positions. He also deserves to START at his natural position this season. Never trade a starting position player when there isn't one more deserving in the system for a reliever. Well trade someone else. Trade one of the bullpen prospects in AAA. Lester? Tonkin? That seems fair since it's really more about salary dump.
Who is going to play SS if Escobar is gone? Santana or Polanco? Santana is a complete mess. Polanco just could not field. Maybe Plouffe or Sano coud play SS? What do you think?
It seems to me Boyer has been letting inherited runners scored every time he's out there. I am pretty sure whoever is reponsible for those runners does not appreciate that. Although Boyer has an acceptable ERA, what he's done is not acceptable. It would be a good idea to trade Boyer for a lefty reliever since his ERA looks nice. Boyer should not be trusted in any close games.
What makes you think Danny is by far the best defensive SS and he can hit? How many errors has he made so far? What's his avg? He does not even have a clue what to do on the base. Anyway he is a complete mess right now. I hope Kepler could be called up. Arcia needs to show consistency in AAA.
Almost all my wishes came true. I want Pelfrey to start since he pitched well in Spring Training. I want May to be in the bullpen temporarily since he could strike people out at will and pitch multiple innings in a close game. I want Fryer to be called up since he's been hitting quite well in AAA and the Twins have been getting no production in catcher's position. Now my last wish is to see Kepler in a Twins uniform soon and Danny Santana be optioned back to AAA so that Escobar could get consistent playing time. No need for three utility players.
Totally agree. I just want to add one more point: Escobar has more power. He is a streaky hitter. When he is hot, he could carry the team on his shoulder. I don't follow all the games. I could remember he won at least two games this season with his bat. He just has to be a lot more consistent offensively.
