  1. 1st Big League appearance Over/Under 1 SEP 15...I'm going UNDER! (Bold, I know, but I got no money on it so....I say, LET 'ER RIDE!)
  2. Morales=singles hitter...sweet!
  3. Anyone think Burdi is in Twins pen in 2014?
  4. "I think he's gonna pitch in the big leagues this summer."-Louisville Head Coach on Nick Burdi's determination.
  5. Gilmartin- 7.1 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 8K
  6. On the hook for the loss but a Quality Start nonetheless.
  7. May: 6 IP, 3 ER, 2 BB, 9K....
  8. Pino and Levi Michael/Polanco for Jay. Book it.
  9. Why would the Twins promote May over Meyer to AAA?
  10. Oh...and I'll hold out hope with you on the Garza front, too.
  11. That's a sloooooooooow line up...Plus, Dozier is a 2-Hole guy and Mauer a 3-Hole guy. With that choice of personnel, I would almost slide Hicks into lead-off slot and move Pinto to the 7 hole...Maybe something like this: 1. Hicks (CF) 2. Dozier (2B) 3. Mauer (1B) 4. Sano (3B) (Highly unlikely, but whatever) 5. Arcia (RF) 6. Willingham (LF) 7. Pinto © 8. Plouffe/Kubes (DH Platoon) (Could flip with Pinto) 9. Bartlett/Florimon (SS) (I highly doubt Bartlett makes the team)
  12. I did the Google translation on the article. It looks like he is on a list of players for consideration, but nothing concrete just yet....The translation was pretty fun to read. Ya'll should try it.
  13. Screw it...Sign me up too! That line up looks pretty damn good in about 3 years. Only problem I really see is the 10 years for Cano. That makes him 41. It might make more sense at 6-8 years/$30 mil. Perhaps a 7/$210-225 mil might be more suitable? I think this issue was discussed at length on another thread though.
  14. If he continues this trend through August, the Twins would be mistaken not to sign him to a 2 or 3 year contract for 5-7 mil/year.
  15. IIRC he's (Pelfrey) improved since the begining of the year. His performance is trending upward and has been making steady progress. Someone with the time and energy can elaborate with things called facts and statistics (more facts, thus redundant). I'm too lazy and would rather live in The World of Generalities...I feel safe there....:shoot::s-instagib:
  16. IIRC, he's seen quite a bit of improvement since the begining of the year and his glide path (stuffy military terminology) is trending upward (era down month-to-month, etc). Someone with that info readily handy can elaborate...I'm a little too lazy.
  17. Am I the only one that thinks Pelfrey is going to surprise this last half? He may have his hiccups now and again, but I think Aug/Sep are going to be where he cements himself as a legitimate 3/4 Starter for next year. If the Twins aren't thinking about signing him next year, they ought to start having those conversations with the staff and Pelfrey's agent, like quick. He might be one of the best FA signings the Twins make this decade (that was my best Nostradamos (sp?) impression)!
  18. SoCal Twin, you must be a one proud papa! Best of luck to Steven! I can't speak for everyone here, but I for one would love to read posts from this young man's father on the regular. Please don't hesitate to provide your prospective as I believe they would offer an interesting perspective.
  19. That is a quote from MiLB.com (so as to make it legal and such).
  20. In the 8th, Kepler smashed the go ahead homer to put the Kernels up 6-4. For Kepler, his first home run as a Kernel and 5 of his first 7 hits have gone for extra bases. The long ball was also just the 2nd off the season hit off of Bees reliever Joey Krehbiel.

  22. Jeremy, great post! Based on need, not necessarily BPA, it looks like Turner would be our best get. Unless we have a precipitous fall soon, I'd bet we don't have a pick inside the top 5, thus, putting us out of contention for Turner. Jackson sounds intriguing (future Mauer replacement?), but not quite as much if he doesn't catch. How bout that...transitioning from one HS catcher to another! Coincidence? No says me!
