  1. Zach LaVine has announced that he's not going to compete in the dunk contest this year. That's disappointing, but he said he wants to focus on getting this team to the playoffs. He's really been struggling since his leg injury, and the Wolves need his outside shooting.
  2. Tyler Duffey, Tommy Milone, and Ricky Nolasco made a combined 59 starts last year. The best ERA of the bunch was 5.13. Topping that and losing 100 games again will be extremely difficult.
  3. Hopefully last year showed Sano that he has to actually try in order to be good.
  4. Usually I would say yes, but last night they just went with Wiggins isolations late. I guess I can't complain with the results.
  5. I've seen a few comments about a lack of excitement for the upcoming season, and I just don't get it. The opening day lineup will include Buxton, Sano, Kepler, and Polanco, plus Brian Dozier coming back shouldn't be looked at as a negative. The rotation is a little less exciting, but having Berrios and Mejia, and possibly May in the rotation near the start of the year is intriguing to me.
  6. Either way would be a gamble, especially if the Dodgers were only offering Deleon and lesser prospects. The Twins are keeping their 42 HR second basemen. That's not that bad of an outcome.
  7. Like fielding and baserunning? Dozier is better in those areas too.
  8. Sure, they're basically the same, if you subtract 33 HRs and 56 RBIs over the last 2 years... But I guess those numbers don't mean much to fangraphs.
  9. Same here. The Dodgers have obviously been pretty clear that he's the one guy they're willing to give up.
  10. I think Rays players automatically get a bump in in WAR ratings just because they're on the Rays. Dozier also has a 33 HR advantage over the last 2 years as well.
  11. If Alvarez or maybe Brock Stewart was also offered, then I'd be more in favor of the trade, but only Deleon has been really talked about, so maybe it was just junk that was offered.
  12. And that's probably why the Twins didn't make the trade, which is a good thing. The Dodgers lowballed them, and now they have a mediocre second basemen. If the deal's not there, don't take it.
  13. So Jose Deleon must not be that good.
  14. After a week off, the Gophers looked pretty good against Wisconsin today, but another loss, in OT. Nate Mason still hasn't found his shot. 3/14 today. 10 assists though, but they need him to score. Ethan Happ is annoying to watch. He plays so weird, but he's so good.
  15. Are you asking that because you think Kris Dunn needs more playing time to help his development? I just think that having a scoring point guard would help space things out for everyone else. My main worry is Jackson's reputation of not being a great teammate. It sounds like a lot of Wolves fans don't think too highly of this trade.
  16. There's some big rumors about a Rubio for Reggie Jackson trade that could be in the works. I'm a fan of Rubio, but I'd be in favor of this move, depending on the other pieces involved in the trade.
  17. Great Article Seth. Hopefully 2017 will be an injury-free year, and Tanner can show his potential as a 4th outfielder type player.
  18. I'd probably trade Wiggins before I trade LaVine.
  19. Same here. I don't know what to think either. I'm more interested in adding to the group through free agency than trying to trade one at this point though. Another big need is a pg who can come in and occasionally get his own shot or at least be able to space the floor. Tyus is the only one that can do that reasonably well, and he's below average in both areas.
  20. Just 10 points off the bench in the loss to the Mavs today, all from Bjelica. That's the biggest need to improve this team. Adding a wing to either play off the bench or push Lavine into the 6th man role will be a big help. I like Shabazz, but he is awful. He's not doing himself any favors in his free agent year.
  21. Wow that was ugly. 37.7% shooting and 2 made 3's for the Gophers. Amir Coffey needs to be more aggressive offensively. Penn State isn't awful like they usually are, but that still has to be a win, even on the road.
  22. That still seems like a light return for Smyly. Mallex Smith strikes out way to much for the type of player he is- about 17% in the minors. And he's a really light bat for a corner outfielder.
  23. It's nice to see the old Ricky. 17 assists tonight. He had 15 in the last game too.
  24. Tonight was just one of those games... No one played well, and everything seemed to go MSU's way. I'm not overly worried.
  25. Good for Trevor and good luck. It looks like he should get a lot of playing time.
