  1. Polanco has been my favorite prospect to read about over the past few years, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in a full season. I could see him having multiple .300 hitting seasons in his career.
  2. I might prefer Sano having the occasional DH day with Escobar filling in at 3B.
  3. I think the batting average is close, but if Buxton plays in 150 games or more, I see him hitting 25 HRs. I'm really looking forward to watching his progression this year.
  4. 24 HRs? That's it? I'll go .270/.340/.500 with 35 HRs.
  5. I think Justin Haley helped himself a lot today in making his case to make the roster.
  6. Why would you have Dozier bat 5th? I want him to get as many opportunities to hit as I can.
  7. However we've arrived here, it's a bummer to see the team's highest upside starter and 3rd highest upside reliever in AAA then.
  8. That's a bummer. I'd like to see Mejia get the spot now with Duffey in the bullpen. It's nice to see the team's highest upside starter and reliever down in AAA, even though both have previous MLB experience...
  9. All Chargois had to do to make the team was not be awful this spring, and he couldn't do that. I probably would've still put him on the opening day roster anyway, but Chargois is the person who should be blamed here.
  10. The difference between Santana and Duffey's 2 pitch mix is that it's probably easier to recognize the difference between a big curveball and a fastball than it is for a slider vs a fastball.
  11. English is the better defender, but he hadn't hit much yet in his career.
  12. I think Buxton is the heavy favorite to open the year batting leadoff.
  13. What's really the need for a 4th defensive outfielder when the 3 starters should be well above average in the field? I'd rather have a good bat off the bench.
  14. Phil Hughes is much less of a lock in my mind, and Jose Berrios really should be in the opening rotation.
  15. Thanks for the article. I'll be rooting for Purto Rico and Canada to make it out of pool play.
  16. I thought the same thing. By my memory, he was usually at 93-94 and only occasionally hitting 96-97. Fangraphs had his average fastball at 95 though.
  17. It definitely sounds like he has the personality of the stereotypical relief pitcher. Good luck to him.
  18. Yeah I agree with that. Harrison was worse in his second full season at AA. Plus, he hasn't had what I'd consider a good season since 4 seasons ago in Cedar Rapids.
  19. Those Rochester and Cedar Rapids outfields will be the ones to watch this year. Chattanooga looks pretty bleak, at least until Wade gets moved up.
  20. I'm really intrigued by Granite, but I'm even more looking forward to Palka getting the call and playing a corner OF spot.
  21. I feel pretty comfortable calling Hector Santiago a backend starter.
  22. I can't see many teams wanting to pay $8M AND give up a worthwhile prospect for a backend starter.
  23. Yeah it seems like Santiago is following in the footsteps of Tommy Milone and Scott Diamond. He's better than those two though, and someone would've probably signed him to a similar amount if the Twins let him go. Hopefully he doesn't have a long leash if he's got a high-4 ERA a month or so into the season.
  24. Sure, if there are any free agents worth signing next year.
  25. Well Anderson and Chavez combined for 3 starts last season, and Holland had a 4.95 ERA in 20 starts. I'll pass on mediocre at best 30 year old pitchers.
