  1. That's correct. It's actually the top 22% now. It was 17% in the previous CBA as I recall
  2. I had been waiting for updates on a lot of these guys, thanks a lot for everything Seth! Is there anywhere you could check stats for EST? I don't even know if they keep stats for it but I'd be interested
  3. It's time for Gibson to get called up. The entire rotation has been a crap shoot for the last year+, let's at least give Gibson a crack at it. Either way, the innings limit is going to be disappointing when it kicks in. Necessary, but disappointing. Can't wait to see this kid let it fly without restrictions for a full season
  4. Not quite. The reason younger guys are getting looks is because of their upside, especially in terms of how they can help the club in the long run. I don't think anyone in the FO sees Colabello as a solid, future fixture for this team. You're right- if he were 24, with his athletic prime ahead of him, there's a good chance he plays ball at the big league level. It's about upside though- not age. The Twins are trying to evaluate prospects with potentially higher upside who can make a longer impact than Colabello can. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and his story. I hope to see him up soon. With Parmelee's prolonged lack of production, maybe the FO has gotten a better read on him and can move Colabello up for the time being. I have a feeling we see him soon.
  5. Thanks a bunch for your thoughts and photos, it's great to get a closer look at how things are working out in AAA. Really sorry to see Benson like that, it's a tough game that can eat you up if you don't have the right mind. That's some depressing stuff. Still, looking forward to seeing Colabello and others up at Target Field soon!
  6. Is velocity something where a pitcher can even "regress to the mean?" To me that doesn't make sense. You can gain velocity over time and lose it gradually. Maybe a mechanical change? I just don't see a "velocity spike" as a normal occurrence. I have almost no knowledge of any pitcher whose peak velocity spiked briefly only to drop back.
  7. What a terrible swing from Hicks, good lord
  8. I forgot it was "free game-ball souvenir night" at the park
  9. I didn't like the way he looked at that. I don't like the way he's been hitting us this series
  10. I drill Ortiz right between the numbers next AB if we are down far enough
  11. I wouldn't mind if those fox sports north girls showed up at my house
  12. Gotta love Doumit's facial hair. He and Morneau had a talk it would seem
  13. Joe is such a damn good player. It'll be a shame if he can't get a ring before it's all said and done
  14. atta boy-- er I mean old guy Jamey!
  15. Really not impressed with Dempster
  16. Where does this prospect optimism come from? They are prospects. You cannot take their future production for granted, ever. Especially pitching prospects. Just as BP warns... prospects will break your heart. Even among highly-touted prospects, quite a few will never develop into productive major leaguers. Relievers can be one of the most over-valued assets in baseball. Many teams will overpay in the heat of a race for what they perceive as a necessity. I like Perkins and his deal, but if a team blows you away with a great offer that includes SP/MI prospects, you take it without question. IMO, having veteran relievers is a luxury that should be less important to a team in the rebuilding phase.
  17. That's a Hobbesian ending if I ever heard of one
  18. Let's just hope Uehara had some bad sushi or something earlier...
  19. This half-inning has been absolutely painful to watch
  20. Shucks, Trevor. In other news... Sano goes yard again. Also, Meyer/May have been slightly underwhelming as of late
  21. Twins baserunners must be getting pretty homesick
  22. Whatever it is, that hair is disgusting. Nice hit Parm
  23. Makes me nervous for the first roadtrip to New York...
