  1. Seth I hear what your saying, he had one good year in 2008 when he posted a 3.52 ERA, but 9 million is a lot of money to pay him, although he has reached 200 innings twice in his career. IF the Marlins were to take on 2-3 million of the contract then I might do it.
  2. John according to Tim Kurkjian from ESPN, the Toronto Blue Jays owner is one of the richest and has been saying for sometime that he has been waiting to make a splash like this when the time was right. I guess the time was right lol.
  3. Hopefully far, far away. Buerhle is owed a combined $39m in his age 35 and 36 seasons. Yeah he has a total of 48 million owed to him over the next 3 years.....no thanks
  4. A 29 year old guy with a lifetime 4.49 ERA......not interested.
  5. Agreed
  6. thank you for all your work put into this post!
  7. SAYYYYYY WHAAAATTTT??????? In all seriousness I hope this is a joke....If this is true it is a straight salary dump and the marlins will end up just like or even worse than the ASTROS
  8. Its not like Baker was stellar for us year in and year out. 2 good years in a 7 year career for the Twins. Not worth 5.5 million dollar for a guy coming off TJ.
  9. Who do you propose we should listen to then? I'm sure KLaw has talked to multiple scouts who've seen Rosario play to couple with his own observations. It's not perfect, but it's among the best information sources available to those of us on the outside. I agree, from what I recall he has often mentioned that he talks to other scouts as well. He generally states when his opinion is based on what other scouts say versus what he has seen. Mostly his opinions are based on what he has seen because he is VERY confident in his judgment. He admits he comes off very snarky, but that is why I enjoy his chats. Agreed love his chats. But probably would never like to work with him.He definitely is one of the best scouts out there.
  10. No. He's a schmuck. It's fine to be smart, but he's so sanctimonious it rubs the wrong way. Thats probably why he doesnt have another job in the MLB.... he can be a dick, he's a very talented guy and its very tough to predict prospects.
  11. This guy has to be nuts! 6/90? No way an injury prone pitcher who has around a 4 ERA in the NL? No thank you. 3 years 24 million is more like it.
  12. Am I the only one who is interested in Stephen Drew? He will be cheap, and if he comes anywhere near his playing days in Arizona its a fricken steal. Why not take a chance.
  13. Vodka Dave....I couldnt have said it any better, i was thinking this exact thought when i read this earlier.
  14. Is it wrong to hate Keith Law as a person, but respect him when it comes to his baseball work? Because he is a dang good Baseball Scout/mind.
  15. Especially when Keith Law is one tough cookie to impress. This definitely made me feel good, especially when Keith Law has been saying right now Kyle Gibson is pitching in a hitterS league with inflated hitting stats. So Kyle must be on his GAME!
  16. Here is a little piece from Keith Laws chat on ESPN. I know you had mentioned on Twitter that Kyle Gibson looked good when you saw him out there, what kind of ceiling does he have? Is it 2 or 3, or lower? [h=6]Klaw (1:15 PM) [/h] Based strictly on that one look, he's no worse than a three. I'd like to see him maintain it, but damn, that was an impressive outing

  18. The only thing i remember about Scott Baker is he is great when their is no pressure. Maybe a 1 yr 3 million deal would work.
  19. Castro From the Cubs? Didnt they just lock him up to a huge deal? There is no way they would trade him.
  20. oh man i sure wish this would come true. All I want for christmas is some starting pitching!
  21. time to cut the chord guys. As hard as it is to let Liriano go...it must be done.
  22. Well in his prime he cost about 12 mil a year, now he would be about 10% of that, I mean its hard to ignore his production this year and its not like we would be counting on him to play every day, he just is a much better insurance plan for 3B then the other internal "options" He wouldnt be a bad insurance plan. He did have a good year. he would be a good bench asset. Right now im staring at his stats and remember how good of a player he could have been before injuries absolutely derailed his career. Would i throw him a 1 year 1.1 million offer at him? Sure, but im sure at this stage of his career he has made all the money he needs and would like to stay on a contending team to preserve his health playing a bench role. This is why i dont see him leaving the Yanks.
  23. Youk could probably be well suited to play at target field as well just like Willingham, He was a monster utilizing the green monster
  24. Eric Chavez in his prime then yes....but now....no.
  25. Edwin Jackson is just a better version of Liriano, thats not saying much, and having a 4 ERA in the NL is like having a 4.25-4.5 in the AL. No thanks, not for that much money.
